Oh brother. If something sucks it simply sucks. Period. Nobody needs to be one of the original prop guys from the movie to pass judgment on this mass produced collectible.

Also, fyi, a lot of people in these forums have deep pockets, and are rightfully picky about where they throw their money at.

No problems with the statue, for all the people that think they can do better? Go make you own T-Rex statue on grandma' attic! Or just wait till you get one piece in hand if you can buy one.
Chronicle is doing their best to help the fans out there for some cool JP stuff...
I think the complainers that doesn't have the money to spend on this statue, looking for an excuse where they can hide behind.

I said I could do a better job painting the head.

I'm not even going to respond to the last part of your rant...

Ok excuse me for my post above.
But I don't like all the negative stuff when a statue isn't released yet (read: in hand). Pictures floating around are always flashy or simple camera quality with wrong lighting and eveyone is complaining about the terrible quality of the statue and not the picture.
Ok the paintjob especialy the spots on the lower jaw isn't the best, but maybe it's the picture quality that the skintone is lighter where the black spots are getting more attention to the eye?

Maybe this is an isolated case, or maybe it won't look so bad in hand, but it's easy to see that there is a difference in paint quality from body to head. The body looks completely airbrushed, whereas the head was either done with a brush or a stencil, which would cause darker dots with harsher edges. Was it to make it easier, to save time, to make pieces more uniform, we'll have to wait and see.

People can tell the difference between a bad pic and a bad piece. I am tired of people using that excuse in every thread.

it's pretty evident that a professional camera wouldn't transform that statue into what Paul showcased as his production statue.

Unfortunately, this is true. The FB production photos do not look like this. The corners of the mouth make the case for sure, and lighting or cell phone cameras aside can't mask that.... Kind of a let down by these photos. My first CC piece, and one I've been really looking forward to. It may look better in hand, but it's not going to be the "production" piece they showcased. I guess we'll have to judge more when we see it. If I hate it, it's definitely going back. I don't have a lot of space left, and can't afford to give a bad statue this kind of footprint these days.

Cliffs notes version?

Lol...
Early pics. Cell phone pics. Bad lighting. Conclusion: horrible figure. Looks nothing like the prototype. Eyes are brown not blue.result: cancelation of orders.
Stage 2, people get it in hand. Conclusion. Best figure ever. Almost as perfect as the prototype, eyes are blue. Figure of the year. Result: reordering

In hand pic...

Can we complain about the lower jaw paint now?

I get what people are complaining about with the jaw paint, but I'm not missing out on the statue because of it. Looking at the overall piece, it's too good to pass up.

Are you going to keep it or send it back? Just curious...does it have some weight to it or does it look and feel like a toy?
