I took this outside to take this series of pics. As I mentioned before, I did a dark wash on the base to make it stand out a little more. Didn't want to get too crazy with the highlighting as the mud should be pretty uniform in color. The whole thing was darkened slightly with a little more in the nooks and crannies.

Did a light wash on the dots. Even though they look pretty good in the pictures I posted straight out of the box, I think you can see they look a little "hazier". They just blend a little better. Also lightened the dots on the tongue.

I'm really happy with this. I would have been too if I hadn't done anything to it. And, what I did wasn't hard at all.

Ah, missed those. I was trying to see the difference in the bases but from what I can tell, you did a great job. I'm waiting on someone to add gloss on the eye to give it some depth. How do you feel about some gloss?

I do have a bottle of gloss. That hadn't crossed my mind to do that. Busy with Easter preparations, but might try to get to that in the next couple of days.

I guess that should be considered a good thing. I don't quite recall, but I don't remember there being a delay for QC'ing the endoskeletons - and we all know how that ended.

I just checked and got the email from Chronicle. I'm not worried about what arrives. If it's bad then I'll return it, but I'll be ok with it if it looks like the last few I've seen online. I've always been more interested in how the overall piece looks instead of getting pissy over some dots.

Got mine yesterday. Looks like the others, but it's a nice piece in hand. I'm happy with it.

I added some greenery to the background to add to the diorama. What does everyone think? Does it improve the overall look or does it look tacky? Oh...and I repainted and reglossed the tongue. I didn't care for the color or the dots on the tongue.
