When bending the smaller fence piece with the short wires, if any pop off or start to feel loose and turn freely on yours, let me know. I had a couple come pretty loose, one so loose it feels like it could break off. I'm trying to determine if they just drilled holes in the post and glued those wires in, and thus my wires are just free from the glue now. Or, if the wires are somehow fixed to the posts and my wires are about to snap off permanently.

It kind of looks like they drilled holes into a solid piece of metal (the posts) and glued the wires in, and that's what I'm hoping for. If one comes out and I just have to push it back in, that's no big deal. Snapping one off would require drilling a hole and reinserting, which would be terribly bad, and difficult to fix without leaving signs it's been fixed, or damaging one of the other wires in the process.
Four of mine came completely off. What I was left with was a tiny nub of a wire on the eyelit with a very shallow hole in the post. Whether or not there was initially a longer wire with a deeper hole, I cannot say. It wasn't too difficult to glue them back in place.

Yeah, a few of mine came out. Just glued them back in easily. The wires are easily replaceable as well, as you can purchase a spool of wire in a hardware store, if you ever need a set of new ones to replace the old.

Thanks for the replies guys!

You mean the eyelets that you stick the wires through came off on yours? The part I'm talking about is the short wires on the single post all by itself on the Rex's right. Those wires felt like they're coming free on mine when I bent them up. If that's what you're taking about, it's good to hear they can be glued back in. How shallow were they on yours? Was there enough depth that they could just be pushed back in without glue and stay put?

For me, it wasn't the bending down that made the loose, it was the last step of twisting and tweaking them to where they looked like they were hanging from the pull of gravity.

Mine at in darker light at the moment , love mine #124 working on some water effects at the moment gave it a clear gloss trying to make a splash on the left foot and will touch up the base IMG_0015.jpgIMG_0017.jpgIMG_0018.jpgIMG_0016.jpgIMG_0020.jpg

Wow looks incredible Mike, this is exactly what I'm gonna do with mine once it gets here:). Actually in a way the green tone is more amplified by the specularity which reminds me of TLW t rex.

Sounds like people should brace the wire next to the post (with pliers or something) to remove the stress on the join point BEFORE bending.

.
I was holding them with my fingers near the poles so they wouldn't be stressed, but it still didn't matter. Strangely enough I made it 2/3 of the way through before the first one came off and then it was an avalanche. Maybe my fingers got tired. Don't know.

Love what you did with yours Mike M. Glad to see you went further than just glossing the rex. Puddles on the ground help the viewer to realize the circumstances. Others have chosen to just gloss the rex which makes it a little cheesy imo. It would be nice if you could get some sort of effect on the poles and wires without just completely glossing them as well. Scale is too small for individual raindrops.

Wow that gloss coat looks like a wet piece of dog ****! However I think everyone who bought the BOTR should put a gloss on there's !

so whats the verdict on this statue? is it worth it for the size, detail and paint?

Considering for same price you can get a 1/4 statue from other companies

It all depends how you look at it and more on what you think like prime 1 yeah they are nice but no way in hell worth that much money

I think it depends on how big a fan you are. It is derived from a very iconic scene in film. But as a statue, and from a value metric, it's not worth what they charged for it. So, if you just like the look or concept and aren't a fan of the source material, I don't think you can make a case that it's worth the cost. Still, the SSC Deadpool PF they just started preorders on recently is pushing $700. I love that PF even though I'm not a big Deadpool fan. But, I'm definitely not a buyer at $700. If that's where prices are heading, I hope you guys that can still afford it enjoy the hobby from here. I'll be out.

If this were a generic dino, say from the Dinosauria line, there's no way I'd be touching it for the price. Personally, I feel it's overpriced for its size. Now that I have it in hand, I like it, but I'm hesitant to jump into their other JP offerings. If this turns out to be the only JP item I get from Chronicle, I'll be happy to have it serve as the lone representative piece from the movie. It's iconic and immediately recognizable.

As someone who doesn't like licensed dinosaur items and wishes this didn't come with a giant "Jurassic Park" logo slapped on the base, it's definitely not worth the price.

I pretty much regret getting this thing. It looks awful next to my Dinosauria figures, all of which cost far less.

You guys don't seem to understand why a JP dino costs more than a generic dino to make thus is a higher cost to us. Why did you buy it if you don't like licensed pieces and didn't want a JP logo on it? Seems odd to be upset at something you knew would be there when you ordered it.

To a dinosaur/paleontology enthusiast, the SSC Dinosauria statues are certainly more appealing, but to most other people, I do see why they would prefer a JP dino statue despite the much higher price.

Although I was tempted to purchase the JP Breakout T. rex when I first saw the prototype images, in our country, it costs nearly twice as much as the official retail price, and after seeing the production pieces, I completely gave up on purchasing one.
