Well how many human likenesses have they produced? How many look like the actor their supposed to represent? The only one that looks like the actor is the Terminator 2 Arnold, everyone else is off, plain and simple! As far as the percentage goes, that was just a generalization. :D

Let's be fair here. You haven't seen the HT GF in person. What you have seen is a few marketing shots, taken by those talented airbrushers at HT. Of course there product is going to look great in promo shots. How it looks on your shelf is another matter.
Certainly how you take the photos can affect how a piece looks. But in my experience Hot Toys piece look pretty much exactly like the promo pictures. While Sideshow pieces often look a lot different from the prototype, any differences with Hot Toys figures are minor at best. So while we haven't seen the HT Godfather in person, we do have their track record to go by.

Dont forget how awesome and accurate the Cinemaquette T 800 is and TX. So, there are some cinemaquettes that are dead on perfect.

And of course the CQ Predator and the T-850. I have to say though, when it has come to the people faces, they have only scored one right, and that is the T-850 Arnold (at least from the one I own). The Indy (again, at least the one I own) they have the face right, but the eyes are just too fake looking.

It is a bone of contention with me if someone is going to pay that price, it better be good. I mean it's not like it started out at $800 and then the price went to $2000 because of demand and how great the sculpt is. Remember, the price is starting at $2000, so it better be good.

Yep, plain and simple! Plain. And simple.

To me, they have got it right on five occasions. But that is just me. So I'll disagree with you. Plan. And simple.

CM Never made a T2 arnold so if yo're ging to criticise a piece, at least get your facts straight.

For a second I thought CM had sneaked a maquette out without me noticing.

Then I realised the OP didn't have a clue what he was on about.

This is getting worse than Medicom versus Hot Toys or Sideshow. The difference being that the price points for those companies are somewhat comparable. When you're talking about $2,000 I think people have a right to be picky.

Play nice you guys.
This thread was started to show photos of the OP's new acquisition, buy all means discuss it but don't take over the thread with your constant back and forth comments and especially do not include vulgarity and snyde comments aimed at each other in your posts.
Thanks

I agree....

He is definately too slim, it doesn't help that I watched Godfather 1 today. :sick

shouldnt we expect perfection at that price? neca's 18" jack sparrow cost about $30, and the likeless is waaay better than the CM's. then there's indiana jones, beaten by sideshow at fraction of the cost. and now this.

Actually I have the Sparrow and the likeness is much better than any other Sparrow likeness out there. The HT and even the Medicom have a better likeness than the Neca.

Except the people that are "being picky" or bashing don't own the CMQs.

For MANY MANY reasons (including the bengy button thing and the fact that the likeness' arent up to par)...and i wasnt aware you know exactly what every poster on this board has in thier collection. Thats pretty cool!! No wonder your an ADMIN ;)

I also didnt know you had to own a piece to have an opinion about it, you must have every piece ever made by every company!! ;) Once again thats why your the admin.

Yes, although you are generalizing you are probably right and thank God for that, we are all $2000 richer. ;)

AYOOOOOO :rotfl:lol:lol:lol

Amin, if you still bother looking at this thread, this is an awesome piece and thanks for sharing your photos with us. If the piece you makes you happy, it's all that matters. Everyone has different tastes and standards in collectibles. I hope you continue to post pictures despite people's opinions. There are still people who appreciates it!

Here's a new pic from Amin with better lighting :
