The likeness is simply spot-on !!!

Spot on? :lol Resemblance? Maybe but spot on? I swear I saw that guy working at a Shell gas station about 2 weeks ago :D

I will say this though the skin texture and hair is amazing BUT it still doesn't mean it looks like Brando cuz IMO it doesn't. Very very nice everything else but the likeness is not there.

This company DOES make some very nice stuff but jeez at least give the collector a $2000 likeness.

Im thinking the same thing, just looks like some ultra realistic random old guy..... but not Vito Andolini Corleone......

They better not butcher Bruce Lee.....

Good job Mirak.

Though I fear photographs seem to be the food of choice for most trolls here. High in Amin-o acids.

Yep, plain and simple! Plain. And simple.

To me, they have got it right on five occasions. But that is just me. So I'll disagree with you. Plan. And simple.

I am with Jet on this I own all the CM humans and the likeness is exact, my wife was blown away at the sparrow likeness she is the biggest Depp fan and still swoons over it, I took a pic on my phone and brought it to work and was able to convince fellow employees that I was able to meet johnny depp and he let me take a phone pic of him with his sparrow outfit on, and I really had them going for weeks, now how would I be able to convince multiple peopl of this ig the likeness was off

I think I would be able to do the same with Asaka's latest effort at a Sparrow portrait Enz.

The likeness arguments roll over and over. The comparisons with 1/6th action figures roll over and over.

And not one of the 'critics' actually owns a Cinemaquette or has the least bit of interest other than to stink these threads up with childish remarks and misleading information. It happens on these boards, just like it happens on others.

Except for the age marks the Don hasn't changed a thing since they showed it at the SDCC ,
and then everybody was so amazed how good it looked and now they treat it like a piece of crap !:confused:

Most of us only have pictures to go on. I guess I'm willing to accept the idea that CM pieces don't photograph well because of the materials used (silicone, etc.), but surely you can understand why people don't like the idea of spending $2000 on something that appears to have a worse likeness than a $150 figure? Maybe if we all had access to stores where we could see them in person, our opinions would change.

But I have to say that story about convincing people you met Johnny Depp using a picture of the CM seems kind of laughable.

EDIT: The GF looks good in those pictures above.

They were really gullible people than, why in the holy blue hell would Johnny Depp be wearing his Pirates costume randomly??? If that story is true, throw me a phone number, I could have his or her mortage payments wired to my account in about 15 minutes haha

It is laughable and that is why I did it to mess with people, I get a kick out of messing with people, but it went to the next level, believe me I didnt expect it too

Iraq, you break. :wacky

Either the photos don't do the piece justice, or it's likeness just isn't there. Of the photos I've seen here, the SDCC is easily the best, so maybe the distance between the flash and the piece have something to do with it.

Yea it could be and I am sure it is great in person but to me still he is too skinny in the face. I think he needs to be a little chubbier.

I agree. Body wise you can just fluff him up under the tux to give him more of fuller apperance somewhat, but face wise theres really nothing that can be done.

i think the lighting is what's throwing this piece off

Photography is all about lighting. Anyone who says the camera never lies is talking tosh.

The dynamic range of a point and shoot camera is far, far smaller than that of the human eye. Colour will be lost or look washed out, angles get distorted, details just vanish, and lighting will look vastly different.

This doesn't just affect CM's. All pieces suffer from being judged by early photographs unfairly. A piece that looks too 'thin' or too 'fat' will look different to the human eye, far different, because the human eye is much better at judging shapes and colours than a camera - especially a point and shoot one.

Sometimes you need to take a step back and judge the phtograph before you judge the piece. A skill sadly wasted on many in this game.
