Prefixes and suffixes... it's like I'm back in my English lesson.

I think the one auction doesn't necessarily set a precedent. Although there may only have been 4 on ebay in the last year, I know of three that changed hands in private deals and all three went for slightly less than the equivalent of $1500. The idea that the seller limited his potential market to the U.S. is a flawed one as I bid on it and I am from the UK. I did, however, have the courtesy to ask the seller's permission first. I would have thought that anybody, from whichever country, that was looking for one would have done the same thing.
Another might be listed tomorrow with a BIN of $600 or it might go to auction and achieve $4000. Either way, referring to market forces, when demand exceeds supply, prices will inevitably go up but then when prices get too high and demand subsides, prices will find their true level and that's when I'll hopefully pick one up.

And there I was thinking that the seller writing in red, bold, underlined "Auction open to US bidders only" meant that he was only limiting it to US bidders. If he was happy to except international bids he could have just said so. He probably changed his mind when the price stunted for a while.

But regardless of that he still got an incredible $2750 for it.

Talking about market forces, your analysis is fair enough when there are plenty of substitutes about. Sure if one manufacturer of butter decides to put their prices up then I can vote with my wallet. But what we are talking about here is a product with high scarcity value and zero substitues (unless two are listed at the same time). This is the reason things go for large sums. Lots of people wanting one, only one available at the time.

I get the feeling that you are slightly in denial about the potential cost you might be expected to pay to secure one for yourself.

Regardless. I do hope you manage to secure one for yourself at some point in the future, be it in a private deal or on ebay.

Sadly it would seem so.

People need to start learning how to suffix a "to me" on the end of any sentence they begin with "it aint worth it".

Might avoid a few arguments.

Either that or people need to remember that there is always an implied "to me" in their responses - and perhaps have tougher skin.

That would DEFINATELY avoid a few arguments.

Note. If you are going to put a word in CAPS, at least check you have spelt said word correctly before you post.

Your spelling is without doubt the worst on the planet*

* "to me"

Fair enough, but seeing as how all of your posts are dedicated solely to CM's products I think that there is another adjenda here, yes?

Either way, I am not out to start a flame war; but things are often enflamed unnecessarily.

:peace

Its only human nature to develop a "PMS" syndrome once wasting $2000 on a piece of junk. I am not referring to their Terminator products.

CM owners have only one agenda, a resentment of wasting money. Once again i'm not referring to their Terminator items. :D

Indeed. Just take a look at post number 26 above for an example.

I would be the first to admit that I like collecting CM's and I laugh when I see petty, uneductaed comments being made about these pieces. Again, just take a look at post number 26 above for an example.

I think it would be fair comment to say that occasionally I 'react' to these comments

This is a new one on me. A troll who is selective in his trolling.

So let's get this straight. A CM owner "resents wasting money", unless they own any of the Terminator products. Err... in which case they don't resent wasting money?

Ok, the black thing in front of you with the white letters on. That's your "KEY-BOARD".

Using these "KEY-BOARDS" we type in messages so that other people can comment on them.

It normally helps if the letters you type in using your "KEY-BOARD" make sense when put next to each other. This often helps the other people on the forum understand what you are tryng to tell them without the need for crayons, hand gestures or primeevil guttural noises.

Cinemaquette humans likeness are on par with Hasbro.

the jack sprarrow wasn't bad, but wth was the guy smokin when they made aragorn. of course when your spending that kinda coin i think you'd what the likeness to be spot on. another wards a mirror image.
i was just going by how good the predator pics look in squids thread, so i figured the tx would rock also. but the human figures just don't cut it imo.:peace

Well considering that this piece retail list price was $1000, I think $1500 is a more than fair price to pay. Anything more than that is just crazy!

Supply and demand is what brings the high prices. I seem to remember people paying astronomical prices for 1/6 figures like PATIENT ZERO and HT HICKS and this piece is absolutely head and shoulders above those puny little toys. Get real bro. The days of $1500 for a CINEMAQUETTE TX is a thing of the past.

Not only is it a splendid piece in it's own right, it's just about the only statue out there of the T-X that is even worth considering.

In addition, this piece is also being hunted by those collectors who came a little later to the CM game and want to complete the line.

Nice Terminator collection by the way AR.
