Re: Classic "Tough Guys" thread - Bogart, Cagney,Weissmuller (Tarzan), Cooper & other

All three look really good, and now me going back to the only Actor I post in here, another James Dean. This time I have re painted Hot Toys worst attempt in my opinion of James Dean but the facial expression when re painted is very strong. The "Giant" version. Eyes, parts of skin, hair, eyebrows, lips all re painted.

I had to take it with no flash as I would not take a good picture. Now without the flash, the shadowing looks great.

I love all your pics, but most especially this one...your figures sure look good! You have done a nice job with them...where did you get Duke's Searchers outfit? Are they from Battlefield Toys? I know that they have a lot of good western and Civil War stuff...

Most of the gear & clothes are from BattleGear & NewLine Miniatures. The hats are from Stewart's Attic. Clint's coat was bought off EBAY. :)

No comparison, your adjustments make him look 10 times better!

Thank you very much, I have now re painted all of Hot Toys James Dean head sculpts, here they are. Do say which look's the best, they will all go to use any how. The giant version is the only one I re painted the eye brows with a different expression.

Well, first, they are all nicely done. The middle one struck me first because of its dramatic appearance, so it became my favorite. Then, I started looking at the one on the far right, and started to like that one because of its natural appearance. Which leaves the one on the far left as last, only because of its similarity to the middle one...those are my thoughts anyway..

Awesome, I use to not be a great fan of the Middle "Giant" version. But it is my second favorite now, after the right one, Rebel Without A Cause. I think if I redid all the eyebrows in a similar way, if might be a different story.

Re: Classic "Tough Guys" thread - Bogart, Cagney,Weissmuller (Tarzan), Cooper & other

Those three figures look just great together. Nice job on the height adjustment. Now, I really wish they all had made a film together, wouldn't that have been something!

That would have been something else to see them in one movie & thanks for the compliment. :hi5: Nice repaints Joel!!! :clap:clap:clap

Re: Classic "Tough Guys" thread - Bogart, Cagney,Weissmuller (Tarzan), Cooper & other

Okay, here are a couple more heavy hitters. I repainted the hair, eyebrows, & mustache on the Charles Bronson/Paul Kersey hs, which was just horrible when I got it. I did a black wash over all the hair & dry brushed the grey in. The Clint Eastwood/Dirty Harry is just a simple bash with the Brothers Production hs on a TTL body. Got the magnum & brown suit off EBAY. Enjoy :)

Re: Classic "Tough Guys" thread - Bogart, Cagney,Weissmuller (Tarzan), Cooper & other

Oh Yeah, Charles Bronson! He grew up in the coal mines of Pennsylvania not too far from where my uncle lived. He used to tell me that Charlie was one tough dude in real life. Didn't take any guff...I like what you did with his hair...very nice. I like your Clint as well. I use the same one for my figure posted earlier in the thread. It's from the Abigail figure, right? Fits perfectly.

If you look back though this thread, we've got a good collection of "tough guys" but there as so many more left! Keep posting great pics. Rebels always welcome as well. James Dean figs are great; most especially (I think) the New York figure...we need some Brando...anyone have him?

How about Stallone? Or more of the Duke, or McQueen? Or WWII figures?
I've got one of Gregory Peck (anyone remember him?) from "Twelve O'Clock High" that I'll post some pictures of at some point...

Thanks, I like that one the most I think. I will probably pick up The Wild One figure.

Working on a McQueen custom. Awesome, have you shown it earlier in this thread or not, I will have to have a little search. A Cape Fear one would be cool.
