Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

interesting to see that sideshow is decreasing his line with such poor sculpts

This will always be under the shadow of the 1st Iron man Comiquette

very easy pass for one that has the exclusive iron man comiquette

Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

I am ordering it just because I love the piece....it is his classic armor...the defining armor that changed him from a clunky monster to a sleek knight. Too many people think things are effiminate or gay...

I for one think that the original comiquette's sculpt is over-rated. His body is very disproportionate and the pose looks awkward. from a distance it looks good though. But granted, until now it has been the only Iron Man in 1/4 scale worth owning.

Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

Also...the sculpted abs is how he was drawn back then...so stop saying its wrong when its not.

Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

jsculpt, since you will be buying this, I presume you don't have the 1st comiquette, right?

nash, I agree that the pose would have been much better on the 1st one but, Granov's armor design is the best IM armor I know in years. That's why it is unbeatable imho

Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

With all the whining about this...if I don't get one of these when it goes up for order I'm gonna be really ^^^^ing pissed! :lol

Nah I don't. I wish to own it before, its not the defining iron man for me, this armor is. Since this is out, I will be getting this one. No doubt Granov's design is awesome and detailed, just this the IM that marked the beginning of new armor designs. If I compare the two, this one obviously has the better pose but Modern could possible have more detail. I also like the paint on the classic IM better. I admit, american flag is much but good thing I live in USA lol. Hopefully I will be able to catch the exclusive.

Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

None of the PFs save Thing and Hulk remotely go together. Red Skull and Cap can only match if you have them displayed at an angle. Spider-Man and Green Goblin only match up if you ignore the bases, his pumpkin ruined that....this will fit in just as much as any other 1/4 Marvel piece which are basic standalones. Now if SSC offered bases similar to the Bride/Frankenstein Dio that are to replace to get a scene together that'd be one thing but until that that argument really isn't a downside....

The initial shock is pretty much over and I will get this, I like the unmasked look although unlike the previous Comiquette where I wanted the Exclusive and the Standard to display next to one another this one I might just get one.

Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

technically this still a PF as it's mixed media (cloth flag)

secondly, if this was superman, no one would be bothered that he was holding an American flag

thirdly, stark industries sold their products to the US army....is that not patriotic?

Re: Classic Iron Man!!!

...and please leave politics outta this, he's a frackin comic book character

I brought no politics into the thread. I brought semantics into it. The word you used was wrong. Twice.

Stark sold his tech to the U.S. for money. Then he used the money he made from his weapons sales for humanitarian projects across the globe. In fact, it's always been a thorn in the side of the U.S. government that he adamantly refused to sell them his Iron Man technology. That's comic book doctrine, my friend. Not politics. :D

Oh, and thanks to Felipe for this new pic of the Iron Man comiquette. :lol
