Clear drying glues that work on metal? (no white residue!)

This may be an unusual question when it comes to action figure customizing but I hope someone can help!

I'm in the process of hand crafting a pair of sunglasses for my Michael Westen figure. I'm using gold pins found in the craft section of Wal-Mart. The first pair I made turned out too large and the super glue I used to connect the nose piece and top piece to the frames left white residue all over the frames.

I've made a second pair that are the perfect size but don't want the gold finish ruined by super glue residue. Anyone know anything that might work?

There's actually a super glue that is specially designed so that it does not fog. It's formulated for glass, but I'm pretty sure it will work for your needs.
