Not seeing it. :dunno

hmm... well, in comparison, this is actually quite original! Instead of sticking 2 guns together, they shortened a gun and added little loopy thingies and a folding stock... even if the gun they shortened is the other 2 guns stuck together...

too bad we didn't get the sort of creativity put into the guns in EpI though... (those were mostly scratch made, with the exception of one naboo pistol which I determined used the wooden grip from a Heckler & Koch PSG1 sniper rifle or similar gun)

I think, in my case, it's probably that the Ep. II helmets show the evolution and inspiration of Jango due to the similarities between the clone buckets and Mandalorian ones.

yeah, my sentiments exactly.

i remember before the PT hit i was convinced we would see Mandalorians (in league with Sidious instead of the droids) battling against the Republic Clones (which were ironically clones of a Mandalorian) ala the TALES OF THE JEDI series...

not even close. roger roger.

That "roger roger" thing is so stupid...

In EpI, the droids' voices were OK-ish, EpII they weren't really heard talking at all and then EpIII through the CW they sound like complete idiots... the CW apparently has them doing slap-stick type comedy routines...

and I heard somewhere that in one episode of the CW Anakin/Ahsoka interrogated a battle droid? The DK visual dictionary mentions that droids were the way to go because they followed orders perfectly and did not feel fear, pity, or remorse. So then how the fook did they interrogate one if it had no fear?

ANAKIN: "Hey droid, Ima cut your legs off unless you tell me where R2-D2 ended up!"

BATTLE DROID: "OH NO! Fine, I'll tell you everything! Just please don't hurt me or I might piss myself..."

can anyone confirm or deny this? (the rumor, not the dialogue I just typed! :lol)

Maybe you should actually watch it instead of trash talk it. Then you'd know for certain. ;)

Wasn't C3PO always scared in the OT ? Jabba Palace for example

well yes, that's a good point, but he's designed to interact with humans, and programmed emotions help that interaction be more comfortable for the human end.

Battle droids are cheaply mass produced, adding programmed emotions would cost a lot extra and also reduce the effectivity of the battle droid.

When I said droids are the way to go because they don't feel emotions, it was a generalized statement, as droids, by default, do not have emotions unless they are purposefully programmed into them for a reason. What would the reason be for battle droids? Sure, self-preservation mechanisms might help it survive better, but who cares about the survival of one battle droid when there's millions of others with more being produced all the time? The benefit of having battle droids without emotions is that they don't get all scared or upset or argue when you send them on a suicide mission (one of the primary uses for the battle droids actually!)

Honestly, I have tried many times, but I can't bear to watch it most of the time... and I'm not gonna watch every episode so far of both seasons (even if I could), of a show I really don't like that much. If I hear the last few episodes are good, I'll watch em on youtube or something... but for now I can't watch it without feeling stupid about it.

That's really sad to hear. There are several great clone-based episodes that reminded me of Traviss' books and playing the RC game.

I dig the Mandolarian with Sidious scenario, that would have been awesome and would have made for a badder-ass movie in general. I believe Lucas came up with the battle droid concept in deference to children. The OT was awesome for little kids in the seventies and early eighties because they were more mature in nature up until ROTJ; kids pick up on that concept easily. I think Lucas would have made even more bank if he had made the prequels a little challenging and adult, and maybe hired another director to pull them off. Imagine Scorcesse (spelling) directing the TPM, Zach Snyder or even JJ Abrams getting a chance. Whatever though, what's done is done and we can complain as much as we would like but it ain't changing anything. I just try and find some nice little nuggets of coolness out of the PT and enjoy them for what they are.

What he said.

Honestly, I would love to see a few episodes with RCs in them. And could you imagine if they had brought Traviss on to write a few episodes. :chew

That's probably not too out of the question (although the idea of having Traviss involved probably is at this point...unfortunately)....my only fear is if they did present the RC's in the current series, they probably gut them story-wise like they did the Mandos (you know, have them come from some overdecorated mall-planet and be ruled some woman with an attitude or something)....no, on second thought, I'd rather see the RC's stay in the books/games than have that happen...

I'm gonna have to be selfish on this and say I still want to see them in the series. At least that way, regardless of diluted suck-factor, we stand some small chance of Sideshow producing them.

LOL...you've got a good point there....and they would make killer figures...

Ya know. As long as the RC episode is handled like the the Rookies episode or even the recent bounty hunters one I think it could be good.

Yeah, they would...and they could get away with not having any real back story that would conflict with KT or what the show did to the Mandos...just a cool, mission-oriented episode showing them doing their stuff.

It's definitely the clone-centric or battle-oriented episodes that really stand out in this series...

Finally picked up a EPII Clone and I LOVE IT!!! Armor looks amazing. This figure alone has revived my SW love.

Nice pics MeguiarsEM! They make me want to pick up a second one... :banghead MUST....RESIST!!

Ah, it's no use, I'll probably get a second one at some point anyway...

Mine arrived today and he is indeed superb . Though I'm not too sure about the very "matte " finish . Though it's aesthetically pleasing , I can't help thinking a Clone this early in the war would be a little shinier .

"Clones can think creatively...you'll find them immensely superior to droids..."

"We've altered their genetic structure to make them less independant than the original host..."

"Magnificent, aren't they?"

The Phase l Clone Trooper arrived today. Pretty impressive "in hand". I wasn't sure about the matte finish either but looking at it more and more...with this "clean" straight-from-the-factory look going here, it actually works quite well...gives it a great "non-toy" look and adds to the sharpness and crisp appearance of the armor.

I almost let this one go...now that he's here and looking cool...I'm glad I didn't....
