I don't know why the voice changer has such a huge visor...

It doesn't even look like that in the film...

I'd say that's a safe bet-- although I've always been partial to the 501st so I like the use of the character Rex.

The interesting thing about Rex is that he isn't a Commander and yet leads his own battalion. He is member of the 501st and takes a group of them for his missions because of his performance on priors, he is allowed to lead but there is a higher ranking officer still to come.

Its that way so kid can see through it. The head harness is shallow and keeps the kid's head lower than the fin so if the visor were movie accurate the kids wouldn't be able to see. Its more cartoony as well which I kind of like because it sets itself apart from the other pieces.

Picked up five of the Wal-Mart exclusive 501st clone troopers today-- and I broke (pardon the pun) down and bought the AT-TE...:D

Awesome dude. Got pics of them 501st guys?

Horrible quality-- Took the pics quickly without a major light shining on them-- insert "night vision goggles" comments here please:lol...

The AT-TE is impressive beyond words-- but you must have a place big enough to display it-- and with the new Millenium Falcon getting one section my home office has considerably run out of room.:D

But I watched a tv special on the new movie last night and I just had to get this-- seeing that they had put out the 501st Wal-Mart Exclusives made the buying easier. I also picked up an extra Anakin and Obi to open and display.

Enjoy "the heart of darkness" pictures with Rex getting his 501st troopers to disembark. (like the Millenium Falcon ramp the disembarking mechanism is the coolest thing on this--it opens on its own).

I'll try to take better (ie brighter) pictures later-- got to spend some time with the little ones as we've got a parade to attend this afternoon.

dang mike you been on a spending spree lately. never seen you pick up so much stuff at once before :rock

Love these pictures, DN! It does look cool, but between the budget (winter's coming and heat is rather nice :)) and the space it would take up (I've none left to speak of) but I'll probably cave at some point...it's a vehicle I've wanted to see since I first saw them lumbering across the Geonosis landscape!

How are the legs on yours? I've read on other boards that folks are having issues with them falling off easily. (Not that I'm planning any rough play...just display)

I've had no issues with the legs-- having said that I just put it together and then found a place to display it so I haven't been taking it "for walks":D. The soudn features are great like the Falcon and there's a neat green light up on the major gun as he lines someone up. Overall I'd say it's a great vehicle and I hope that I can get some clean-up work on my basement (now that I'm no longer burning wood) so that I can construct A) my ideal movie room with B) a display room for 3 3/4 SW battle scenes-- The look of the Clone Wars figs are really growing on me as well (too bad Obi and Anakin don't have knee articulation) as I really like the troopers.

I stopped collecting this scale a while back. Clone Wars has got me hooked again:whip I really like this style compared to the realistic looking Legacy figures.

GREAT PICTURES!!! Now you've really made me want to go back and pick up another ten or twenty troopers to go along with the ones I already have on my AT-TE.:D
