i wouldn't be surprised. one of the few problems i had with hastings is my SSC Obi-Wan clone turned out to be a Hasbro figure! 
Well, my second trooper appears to have shipped too now. Maybe Hastings will be coming through on these?

i think their system is "close" to accurate.
I think what happens is their inventory pools together all the items in the warehouses and in the stores. some of those items in stores are on shelves or in back rooms
theres always a chance an item is lost on the wrong shelf or someone stole it or they have a broken one or even in a shopping basket of an in-store customer.
I don't think you can expect them to know that kind of stuff and be 100% accurate. Even SSC "loses" things in their storerooms or factory, if you believe their second chance sales and stuff. But I'm pretty confident that hastings isn't taking 300 orders when all they have is 250. I bet we are talking a very small margin of error.
Their satisfaction rating is 94% which seems pretty darn high for someone with 745,112 independent ratings.

Now as long as I either get the Trooper (Heck, I'd take a Snake Eyes) and not an officer, sniper, or commander, I'll be happy.

I bought 2 and 1 officer. I think I might sell both my troopers, since I have 2 already. I think I can get enough money for both so that the officer ends up beign free.

I had a pending charge on my debit card for my order and today it went away and didn't change into a converted charge. I'm assuming that means that I did not get my order. When I got my snake eyes from them I didn't get a shipping email till the day before I received the figure, so don't fret if you haven't gotten an email. I would be nervous if like me they didn't take your money.
Got mine today. with the one from DarkArtist as well.
Do the come UPS or USPS? Just wondering.
