Wonder why I got my notice for the 2 troopers shipped, but not the 1 Officer, I though for sure it would have been the other way around. Are they shipped from their stores or a warehouse?

They ship out of different stores most of the time... Whichever store filled your order for the troopers had their s#it together while the store that's providing your officer employs some college student who's too busy reading last months copy of High Times to go pull your order and box it up.

I just think if they can't count how many figures they have then they shouldn't be selling them. If you have 10 figures, indicate you have 10 figures to sell. Just don't keep taking more and more orders. I mean how you'd you feel if Sideshow did that? "Oh, sorry, no Grail item for you, we oversold by 1,000." If they can offer deals like these, but actually know how many they have, then that is OK. But if they can't even keep track of how many they have, then they shouldn't bother.

The only difference between this and what SSC does is one accepts the order then cancels and the other waitlists you. Neither can sell more than they have, and neither charge you if they don't have it.

So I really don't see a difference between the two.

How many stores do they have nationally? Then add the ecommerce. I've seen real-time inventory fail more times than it's worked. Even still, it doesn't account for someone walking around the store with the item in their hands/basket or online orders processing credit cards, etc. So yes, it's rather hard/complex. :lol Besides, I'm willing to bet that orders are fulfilled more often than not.

If they are relying on their stores to individual send these out then they serious need to change things. Its called a warehouse. You store things in them. They should look into getting on for their online orders.

Do you know more or less the shipping time for them? My notice says to expect items to arrive anytime between Mar. 5 - Mar. 22

Well Sideshow doesn't pre-auth your card before seeing if they have the item or not. If I'm not getting my item, I don't want them wasting my time or credit on my card.

I mean I get what you guys are all saying, but I just feel they could be handling things better. Firstly don't offer things off based on what their stores have. Use an online wearhouse and if they have them in the warehouse, offer that many up online at the price they list. I think many of us are just willing to put up with their crap because of the great prices they sometimes have, but that shouldn't be an excuse for poor customer service. That would just make them the wal-mart of the internet.

gohastings operates almost like a used book/cd syndicate that incoporates a joint webbased selling system, but the stores still operate independantly for much of their merchandise. its odd but i think it works for them.

What? Are you just on a sphincter-poking tirade today or what? :lol Deal with it. Every bookstore I've ever been in that's a corporation works on the same principle. If one doesn't have it in stock, they order it from another and online inventory is pulled from the closest store and shipped. It's better for the customers as there's no warehouse rental price factored into the retail price of the products. :huh

If you're that butthurt about the process, keep refreshing Overstock.com in hopes that they'll get some. :p

I don't know. Maybe because I had another online shop basically pull the same thing with me last week (ordered 4 DC Direct figures, but they just shipped the 3 and cancelled the other) I'm in a bit of a pissy mood. If I get my troopers, or even one at this point, I'll be happy. But I just find it annoying when places can't come through. Its one thing to do sell like this regularly but when they put up an ultra sale like this, they need to get better organize it.

If you're looking for stuff, let me know. I'm constantly peeling through sites and if I should come across something you're looking for on the cheap, I'll PM ya.

Only took about a week, week and a half to get to me in the past and I'm in CA too. I think there's some up north, OR, WA area.... I think. Pretty sure they shipped to me from there before. Other than that I think AZ was a place my items have come from? Anyway, it just depends on where they're shipping from.

So why is someone that ordered 20 yesterday getting confirmation, but someone who ordered just one two days ago (me) hasn't?

because money equals.....
