I've been collecting for awhile now. As i count up my collection i start to notice that i've spent quite a bit. But I'm curious. Have any of you amassed credit card debt as a direct result of buying figures? If so, around how much?

Plan it out to a budget per quarter and limit your purchases to not exceed that.

It's what i do, it's easy to let things get out of hand when there's so many good statues coming, so i've set a budget and now stick to it.

My Q1 budget is maxed out and i want that Mythos Obi-Wan now, gotta be strong :lol

Lol. So true. Planing is everything. Im not in credit card debt. I do shop around and watch my bank account, not as much as i should, but i do. I just wanted to know if credit card debt is part of this hobby. And if so, around how much?

I have to limit my spending on this hobby. Luckily I'm not in debt so all of the pieces I have are truly mine. Hard to resist but in this hobby you need know when to walk away and pick the ones that you really want. $200-$300 a pop adds up quickly.

Hell, the entire Avengers crew is close to a month's worth of mortgage.

Yeah this crap can get outta control quick, I don't use credit to buy collectibles, just debit so if I don't have the money I don't buy. Not saying to use a debit card online, just transifer to paypal than buy:wink1: I'm don't think this is something worth going into dept for, so I'm not but man what my savings account would look like if I was'nt a collector:panic:

I try to limit myself to average 1-2 pieces per month. Keep your collection focused on what you really like and have a theme.

It prevents you from buying all over the place.

Word of advice, this hobby is not for the poor.

If your working minimum waged job, or have a tight budget with wife and kids, then this hobby is definetly not for you. The game is to NOT get into debt over hobbies.... so don't know why you would want to know what the debt limit would be, to allow yourself to have excuses.

I have never gone into debt to service frivolous pursuits. And buying statues or figures of comic book or film characters is about as frivolous as it gets.
