Re: Collection Database Website

Hey, Sexy, like I said in chat the other night, if you still need some testers, I can help out.

Just let me know.

Thanks! I will put you down for the closed Beta. I do not think I am going to add anymore testers for the current run because I have a feeling I am going to be blowing away the current data out there and starting fresh. Not that there is a lot out there now but I don't want to get you in near the end if I am going to start a clean slate soon. I will keep you posted.

a tab for each company would work and maybe a tab for custom statues, posters & original art

I think this type of behavior is, or something similar is how I am going to structure the main landing page and general searching on collectibles.

As for your personal stash, I think with tags and filters on collectible type/manufactures you will be able to do the same. I am not sure yet though. I am going to try a couple different things and see what the majority likes.

I like it. I think tags would work well for organizing everything. :D

Thanks, I definitely want to give this a go for Beta!

Come on man, get with the program!

:) Just kidding. Don't worry about it. We know how busy life can be.

Re: Collection Database Website

Hehe, life and the paying job got the best of my last week and I barely got to work on CS. I think I am going to lay the ground work for this round and revert it back to allow for only one stash. I am going to expand on the "home" view a bit with tags coming later.

Are you planning on making it trade friendly? I just had this idea that I think would be pretty cool (perhaps You have already thought of it).

Put in an option for a wish list of collectables, so that users can select which collectables they are interested in obtaining. Then when somebody wants to sell one of their collectables they can mark it for sale and see a list of who is looking to buy it. From there, perhaps reach out to them with a price. Or maybe the other way around, when it's marked for sale, the interested people get notified and they can contact with their offer. Or in an attempt to be a little fair and try to avoid low balling or other such issues, perhaps the seller can list a price they are willing to sell at and the potential buyers are alerted of that price and whomever is willing can then buy it. Anyways there are quite a few ways to implement, but that's getting into specifics. At this point I'm sure you're just looking at general items for the site/database. So the general would be the want and sell options, and the specifics would be how those people interact and complete a transaction/trade.
