Good call EF

Well 6-6 headed to OT that should prove that this would be the most boring National Championship game and end talk of a rematch.
I'm not sure what kind of game folks might have expected from these two. The average points scored against Alabama this year was around 8, and for LSU was around 11. That's the kind of teams they are, and when playing each other, they're smart enough not to try and get too crazy with the offense considering what they're going up against. Personally, I love offensive football (that my Saints provide), but I also enjoy watching two complete defenses going at it from time to time. That's part of what football is. If all I cared about was offense, I would watch Arena League. Personally, I still suspect LSU and AL are the best two teams around.

At this point, I hope LSU won't slip up against Arkansas or in the SEC championship game so they can go on and steamroll Oklahoma State or Stanford in the championship game :yess:

A great defensive game indeed. But I can understand how many people think it was boring. It reinforces the old saying: offenses put butts in seats, but defenses win championships.

If LSU continues to run the table, they'll score 25+ on any of the other undefeated teams that could possibly face in the BCS Championship game. Hell, if it's OSU, LSU will probably have 300 yards rushing, lol.

Now I can't wait to get to work next week: I won free lunches for a week thanks to my LSU Tigers (as an LSU graduate I can say "my") lol.

And one last thing:

FRACK NICK SATAN!!!!!

Word.

And I think you're right about the Oklahoma State thing. I suspect the "war in the trenches" will be pretty damn lop-sided if that game happens.

Exactly. LSU has proven more than once this week that their defense nullifies high power offenses.

Exhibit 1: Oregon
Exhibit 2: West Virginia

Next up: Arkansas

I don't know. Ok State I think can handle playing with LSU and I think Stanford could as well. Yes, LSU has a great defense but I'm not sure they're good enough on offense to win.

OSU's offense is a thing a beauty. It runs better this year than the Ducks and West Hillbillies.

Even in a poor game/fist fight, they put up 52 points.

Their D, it's a bender designed to force turnovers and feed em to to Weeden and Blackmon.

I hope it does come down to OSU and LSU in the title game. Still bad blood in how Miles left.

LSU's rushing game would shred Ok State's porous D line. Just look at how many rushing yards they give up.

Now, if Stanford and Luck had the same caliber athletes that LSU has, I could see that game being trouble. But Stanford doesn't have the skill position players to handle LSU's defense. Luck would still probably throw for 3 TDs in a Stanford loss.

This is SEC football you are talking about.

It will be 6-8 LSU.

Nice call.

LSU.........9
Alabama...6

One of the sorriest ass games I've seen in a long time. I should have watched the OSU/KSU game.

Don't kid yourselves LSU and Bama fans, both your QBs suck and there's a tinge of incompetence to both your offenses.

Now I hope LSU loses. I don't want to see them in the BCS Championship game.

Ok St HAS to put up 52 points because their defense is not good. Their defense is ranked #111 out of 120. They give up almost 180+ yards rushing and 275+ yards passing per game.

Yeah, but could they stop Ok States O? They have I think far more skill players than Alabama does on O. Plus the spread will get them to get players on the field that shouldn't be there.

I think Stanford would be trouble anyways because there is no chance LSU has seen a QB that good no matter how good the SEC is.

Stop hatin', lol.

Why do you not want to see LSU in the BCS Championship game? Do you think they don't deserve it or is it because of tonight's offensive showing?

The spread offense is a plus for Ok State? Have you seen what LSU's defense has done versus spread offenses this year? IMO, LSU's defense would reduce Ok St's scoring by at least 50%.

I agree that LSU has not seen a QB as good as Luck, but LSU's defensive schemes would take away some of his weapons and I'm sure Luck hasn't seen a defense like LSU's either.

I dont know Oregon pretty much proved you move the ball and put up points against LSU.

Yeah, I think the spread offense is great and I'd take it against any team in the country. Some teams run the spread badly but not many are running it as good as Okla State nor have the horses on offense that they do.

He probably hasn't that is true. However, I think he's good enough to figure out how to get things going.

Yeah but Luck is smarted then any QB LSU has ever seen too so you dont think he can figure it out.?

The problem Stanford would have is they dont have the talent of LSU but what do you expect as very few top level D1 players could ever get into Stanford let alone stay illegible.

Who is hating? See my post #361. I wanted LSU to win because of my dislike for Nick Saban.

Tonight's game was miserable. When you have 2 QBs (LSU), it really means you have none. Would I rather see OSU, Stanford or Boise State in the title game, yup! Will I see LSU get there, probably.

I just hope LSU stumbles against Arkansas. Bobby Petrino is a bum for quitting on the Atlanta Falcons but he's a damn good college coach (Louisville and Arkansas).

Looks like they just need to cancel the rest of the season and give LSU the MNC cause no one else has a chance but Alabama, apparently.
