Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

Sideshow must be rubbing their hands on this one, easy money. Looks like a 5 minute paint job on this piece. Easy $400 for them in my opinion.

Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

Wish they did it like the rest of the X-men with fully sculpted torso for consistency. Looks like they didn't learn from Sabretooth, where the cloth hides all muscular definition. The eyes look a little beady to me. The paint applications also look very bad from the hi-res pics.

I'm a huge X-men fan but I may drop this line. I feel they are slowly losing the essence of making 1/4 scale comic based statues which to me was at it's peak in Gambit PF, Spidey com, Venom com and Carnage com.

Too bad they veered away from the 1/4 scale fully sculpted format. It would have been a great choice to do more of those.

Lastly, it's TBD edition size with a deposit and I won't order deposit items without knowing edition size.

Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

Anybody else think this will probably reach the $400 mark?

Really sorry to be right. I really don't think this Colossus is worth that amount of $$$

Hilarious that they used the prototype Rogue in the group shot :lol

I love that Magik! Love the face and the pose and the fact that she is not wearing a loose pajama.

Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

This price bites...never paid $400 for a statue before...ouch. I want this a lot since I do like all the X-Men PFs so far, but this is extra overpriced.

Colossus looks good but the lack of chrome brings out the bright red/yellow fabrics NOT in a good way.

I know people like chrome but I'm glad this isn't super reflective. Somehow a less refelctive metal look seems "stronger" to me than being all shiney. Is there a mid point between this grey and the typical "Bowen" chrome, that people complained flakes anyway?

Lot of b*tching and complaining about cloth / fabric material. This is the staple of what SSC does best. You guys should get a different hobby or buy full sculpted statues instead whether it's from SSC or another company.

:exactly:
Sideshow does PFs...people know this and still complain about cloth costumes, when they're supposed to incorporate cloth (or something else). As long as people buy them, it'll continue despite the complaining. Expecting anything different is setting yourself up for Fail.

If you don't like cloth or the "pajama" look, these just aren't for you. They're for the many people that DO like them, like ME!!!! (Yup, even PJ Wolverine....love it!)

Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

I'll pick up a reg from another retailer. The Ex head looks kind of weird with the pose, and the $400 price tag hurts.

Yup. If you don't like it move on and don't expect them to change. Sideshow is under no obligation to cater to PF haters and no amount of complaining will change that. There are still plenty of us to support the PF line.

Have you thought on the possibility that people might not be complaining about the use of cloth per se...but about the bad use SS sometimes makes of it??

Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

Well as long as they do an alternative fully sculpted Colossus in 1/4 scale that's fine. Win-win for those that love the cloth format and fully sculpted and some may even get both.

One of the best used cloth on Marvel pieces so far is Gambit PF and Black Panther PF.

Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

Ordered mine. I actually like the PF and the EX head.
Your right Fuzzy a win-win

:exactly: if you are looking at a PF, guess what people you're going to get cloth of some sort :slap get use to it or get out of it.:dunno

Have you considered that Sideshow and a lot of collectors don't think it is bad? This is clearly the style that Sideshow is going with for their Marvel PFs. Why are people are so offended and disappointed when this kind of style is expected from Sideshow?

Hate to break it to you but it isn't going to happen. This is going to be the only 1/4 Colossus from Sideshow.

:monkey1 That is flawed logic..Any company with the slightest business sense should be aware that you should always cater to your customers' demands and concerns because without us, SS would be making statues for themselves and go out of business. They're making statue for us..the paying customers, not for themselves. If so many collectors are complaining about the cheap & inappropriate fabric being used on some PF's then there really is a problem here that needs to be rectified. A good company should always be willing to listen to its customers complaints and constantly try to improve their product for obvious reasons.

As a side note, by recently bombarding DCD with complaints and criticism regarding their upcoming Catwoman PF..we got them to alter and improve the prototype from this:

to this:

We'd never have managed this with the absurd "its just the way it is so you might as well just buy whatever they spit out" mentality :monkey4

See that the main problem, they concentrate on 1/5 scalem comiquettes and have PFs as the only available format in 1/4 scale. It's too bad because having a Spidey com and Spidey PF was great for the diversity of the hobby. While the Spidey, Venom, Carnage trio was awesome.

I'm getting a little confused about this as well, everyone seemed to ok with the NRD as long as they had the ES posted, but now it seems that they're playing games again with the ES and low quantity bar.

I got on two pieces WL a couple weeks ago that both were sold out and both converted in a couple of days.:horror

Re: Colossus PF Sneak Peek

I dont know what to think of this Colossus yet. I was really looking forward to him but something seems odd. He does meet the one major requirement I had. I wanted him big and bigger than the regular X Men PF's. I also like the standing up pose. Price is actually better than expected, I was expecting him to be like Destroyer. Im gonna go look at the pics again.
