Holmes, your custom Rogue and Wolverine look awesome! Did you actually peel the pajamas off the wolverine PF and paint those details?

You have collected many custom pieces in your collection. You should know, thats the $400 price range is not even close to a fraction of the custom pieces are. The quality of the custom pieces cannot be compare to the Sideshow pieces. Plus Sideshow have to pay all the copyright and license fees too. So $400 is very reasonable in my opinion.

Im not saying that its too expensive for some collectors, Im saying its too expensive for mass production. People still have to pay their bills and they are in debt. Luxury items such as expensive collectibles take a back seat. I dont know if you are aware of this but Colossus isnt necessarily a big hitter. He was introduced in 1975, and he is more expensive than Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Spiderman (all the a-list hitters).

They'll sell some, but thousands... no. Not for a long long time.

What would you call him? You surely wouldn't call him A list.

I would call him A list character!

Colossus may be a B list character by himself to some people but he is a major character in the xmen line. Can u honestly tell me an xmen collection would be complete without him? Also I think he is more major than psylocke for example and her EX is sold out.

Sure some will want argue he is B list but I think you said it best. He is a major player in the X Men. Several people who purchased Gambit, Rogue, Cyclops, Wolverine, have Psylocke on preorder will naturally be looking to add Colossus to the Collection. To deny his place on the team would be a crime for a serious X Men fan/collector.

Points well taken. I had seen so many come and go on this forum. If you don't know, what are doing then, you will not last in this collectible world. Some still around but have not been as active as they first started. I guarantee you, most of the people post on this thread will not be around when Sideshow release this piece for shipment.

Agreed, people that spend money on this hobby just because they CAN, aren't really the people that most of these companies are selling to. (don't get me wrong, they help) but the true collectors imo are the ones that have to and want to pick and choose their purchases to make their collection look or work better in the long run, are the one that will continue to keep this hobby going long after the blockbuster movies are over.

huh? you think people are gonna just quit? i don't really understand why you would think that. not to mention that there are thousands of collectors who aren't even in these forums. There may be some who buy just because they are filthy rich but you probably still have to be a fan of the stuff to some degree. Filthy rich people probably spend money on cars and other stuff already perceived to be a "wealthy" hobby as opposed to expensive comic book statues.
