With 3 Endor Rebel Troopers being announced as the next figures, I have to voice my disappointment about the fact that SS is hardly giving us anything in the way of villains. I realize that Sith Anakin/Vader is considered a bad guy and that Maul is on the way sometime in the next 3 months, but of all the figures that have been released or are going to be released that's not enough villains. I'm not saying they should give us all the cool bad guys at once, but how hard is it to mix in a Dooku, a Stormtrooper or a Palpatine/Sidious in between all of these good guys?

So are we forgetting Jabba, Bib and Salacious? I would count them among bad guys. Sure they may not be Stormies or anything but they are still bad guys.

I've been giving SSC the benefit of the doubt on this aspect so far, but with the baffling announcement of the (3!!!!!) Endor Rebel Soldier figures I now believe that they have gotten either lazy or timid with this line, or both.

Seriously, I can't even count how many figures deserved to be made before these.

I agree with you 100%, Irish. This is the strangest choice yet. I mean, seriously, WTF?

Dude, give it a rest. These are good figures that are PERFECT for the military line. What the hell do you expect from the military line anyway? I'm not the only one who thought that Stormies would be first in this line but these will be great once we get some Scout Troopers and regular Stormies. Just because other characters are more popular, doesn't mean they're not getting made. I don't think they have a list of characters ranked by popularity for them to produce them in that order. That would make the end of this line pretty damn dull. Maybe they're holding back some of the bigger '07 announcements for occasions that actually deserve them like Toy Fair, the SW Celebration 4, and SDCC.

We've only seen the tip of the iceburg with this line. It's still in it's infancy which apparently so are you with all the whining you've been doing about this announcement.

Personal insults aside, the fact that the line is still in its infancy is precisely WHY they should not be releasing characters as uninspiring as Endor Rebel Troopers.

What did I expect from the Military line? Other than armored troopers and Imperial agents, I certainly would haved expected to see Rebel Fleet Troopers from ANH or Hoth Troopers from TESB before these, especially in the year of ANH's 30th Anniversary.

Swing from SSC's nuts all you want here, but this is a baffling decision at this point in the line for MANY of us.

I think they just wanted to do something completely unexpected. Instead they would up doing something puzzling for all the wrong reasons.

I'll agree with you 100% this this is one of the last figures I'd expect to be first for this line. It fits the line, obviously, but it's far from iconic.

I think a bit too much is being made of the 30th Anny of ANH. Maybe there just waiting for '07 for the ANH announcements. I'm not going to pretend like I know. None of us do, certainly no one saw this coming.

And I'm certainly not swinging from SS's nuts. Never have, never will. I appreciate good products, no matter who the manufacturer is. This is a very good product but it's the timing of it that may be in question.

Possibly. But we now have 7 1/6 figures announced for 2007... 8 if you include the Salacious Crumb pack. All but one are from ROTJ and NONE are from the movie that will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary.

There is no way to sugarcoat this: It makes NO sense.

There is doing something completely unexpected... and then there is doing something totally illogical. I'm afraid Sideshow fell on the wrong side of the fence this time.

Also, though some have been tough on SSC all along, they are starting to make a valid point: If you are 1 1/2 years into the line and you've made figures like Endor Rebel Troopers but NO Stormtrooper or armored Vader maybe, just maybe you were not ready to tackle this license just yet.

Again I agree with you completely, Irish. I've been waiting to purchase a lot of new 1/6 SS figures, but so far I've only bought Sith Anakin and Maul. I don't need them to release the real big guns like Vader or Boba right away, but I'd at least like to see a Clone Trooper, Tusken Raider, something.

We all know that the armored characters are not only coming but difficult. I have no doubt these are in the que but there could be production delays with them. I have faith that we will have Troopers announced by the end of the year.

Does anyone else have the sudden crave to play some Battlefront?

Yes. I think I will play tonight and slaughter as many hapless Endor Rebel Weenies as possible. :emperor

i know i do!! im still counting the days until the new expansion pack comes out for it too. but IMO the rebel troops are not necessary right now and one would think they are just pumping them out to for the sake of doing it. maybe they are having problems developing an efficient way to create the armor?? hope not because Hasblo and Marmit have been doing it for awhile now.

I love blasting them but nothing is more satisfying than frying some Ewoks :emperor
