Then they should have completed the Fellowship or at least did Gimli and called it quits.

Even though personally i never cared if they finished the FS, i know a lot of people here did. ( i mean all that trouble to get the small/hobbit body going and for what? No Merry or Pippin?)

Oh well it's all over now, and i still enjoy the ^^^^ out of the LOTR figs that i chose to buy.

well.. i guess we can hope that hot toys picks it up..

there is always hope..

i'm just gonna keep muttering that as i go back to my corner to cry.. lol

When THE HOBBIT is released they might make 2-3 1:6 figures from.... THE HOBBIT.

The notion of a complete 1:6 Fellowship from Sideshow is a pipe dream now.

I asked Greg specifically if SS might have a piece of the Hobbit franchise. He did not respond.

Nonsense.... 1/6 SS figures are their finest...

Did I say they were bad figures? No. I think they look awesome esp Gandalf.
The fact is, I'm a LOTR fan but I don't own any figures. Weta/Sideshow put us on the polystone path right from the beginning. That's why I think the figures are not a priority for most Fans.

But if they aren't selling, would you continue to spend resources making them?

Aww bollocks! Well, my favourite 1:6 line just screwed the pooch... the line that got me into 1:6 and Sideshow in the first place... I doubt HT will pick it up either. Its all just one big crying shame. They got the hobbits nailed and with the new Prometheus / armoured bodies being put to use this line could've shined.

I know each release was a real chore to produce (no re-use of Jedi robes or tunics here!) as each character's attire and accessories were so unique... but these were my favs man!

Still don't understand it... blame the slow releases? blame the lack of villains? blame the so called 'fans' who bailed out on this line?

I blame myself for even getting into it...

i knew this was gonna happen years ago. glad i bailed on this line after the first two figures. this really sucks for the completists as i also wanted to see the fellowship created. i wouldn't be surprised if they announced the same for the PF next.

I know its been said before... 1:6 Ringwraith (okay getting the non-corporeal head to look good might've been difficult) would've been a great release with their raggedy robe appearance and just a sword + belt + sheath (maybe the Witchking's sword and Morgul blade as an exclusive?) as accessories. A villain which people may've wanted multiples of which may've injected some cash into the line to then make more figures.

I will say no more on this... I will direct Sideshows attention to my bat-avatar and let the monkey summarise my feeleings ---------> :monkey2

No one has mentioned why LOTR didnt sell and what portion of this is SS responsibility, ie price, choice of figures, and release schedule.

To me SS shares in the responsibilty in the line dying the way it did

sad, sad, sad news but not unexpected. well ss 1/6 lotr is what brought me into the 12" world and also into ss world and their other products and also this forum. sad to see my favorite line offically dead beyond hope and not just on hold

I'm sorry but... SS Sucks!!! :(

RIP 12" LOTR!! This is what brought me to SS and now.. I only really use them for HT.

IF another company pickes up the license, here's to hoping they start where SSC left off. GTG, Frodo, Sam, Legolas, Boromir and Faramir (with repaint) are perfect and don't need redos.

A TT/ROTK Aragorn would be great as will obviously lots of badguys and a Gimli! Come on Hot Toys!

Patience everyone. Look what happened when we were kids. Star Wars toys vanished in 1984/85. GI Joe line vanished in 1994. Now look what we have. Someone, somewhere will make these wanted figures. As a kid, I didn't think a 12" Jabba would ever be made. Or a Snake Eyes or Stormshadow 12" that was of the classic look. Never thought a 12" Dutch would be made.

It is sad that only three more figures were needed to complete the collection. Wonder why SS couldn't just make a limited number of these for those who would commit to buy? It seems to work here in the custom world.
