To be perfectly frank, I think both are quite ugly and impractical, though I respect the talent and effort behind the renderings.

The Playstation 4 concept is mostly made of glass (deduced from reading the link above). Glass. Yeah...

I also don't see the the point of having a touchscreen (let alone any screen) attached to the base unit itself. I mean, unless the idea is to use the thing as a portable device, I expect 99% of people forgoing that in lieu of a television, no?

Also, the controller is quite silly. I can imagine some frat house gamer getting angry over a game of Madden 2015 and...*SNAP*

As for the Xbox mock-up, it looks like either a terrifying creature that you'd ^^^^ your pants if you encountered in the ocean or a George Foreman Grill...from the future where George Foreman is King.

Ditto!!!!!

I don't care if the consol looks like a VCR (xbox), as long as the controller is big and fits in my man hands and plays games I want, that is all I care.

Too concept-artsy. The next gen consoles will not look too different than what we have now.

I was going to chime in, but then I read this post and it pretty much sums up my feelings as well. :lecture :lol

Designs are too impractical. Only thing I really want next generation is controllers that seperate to 2 pieces like the Wiimote/Nunchuk combo.

I'm an Xbox guy (have all 3 systems and a PSP though), but that Xbox design is UGLY :lol

The PS4 design (top in particular) is awesome.

I can understand the the PS4 concept... It looks like it's trying to emulate Sony's Bravia/XBR LCD TVs (They all have a rim of glass/plastic that actually looks pretty nice around the set). But the touch screen is going way overboard. I mean, if they can keep the system at a Wii size, I would welcome that. Why add in a snazzy impractical feature that would only increase the price of the system exponentially, leading to people waiting for the inevitable price drop before buying the system (which is exactly what happened with the PS3 slim)?

The xbox concept is just horrendous though.

The Xbox 720 should come in two-packs so when the first one breaks you can just use the back up.
