Great pics, Kuat. :duff What do you think of the quality of the outfits? Is it as good as HT? A step below? How about the quality of the bodies themselves as well as the accessories?

Thanks for your pics and thoughts, Kuat, and congrats, Sidious. :duff

Cheers my friend.

Unfortunately they are boxed away (as is all my newest figures) until the New Year. I'm going to rearrange my display room so I wont have any pics up until then but they are fantastic figures.

Thanks for that excellent write-up and pic, Kuat. :duff

You need that Pacino, Rambler. If only for this.

Fffff-orget Righteous Kill. :lecture

Sorry to hear that, Sidious. If it's any consolation, all of my figures are boxed away too...only permanently. :slap :lol

I just discovered this whole Heat line last night. I love the titles that Craftone goes after but I’m not a big fan of their stuff. However these look like they have a lot of good attributes for the price. It’s great timing too because CK’s Neil & Hanna sets just shipped and CO’s Team Leader set has all the very necessary missing bits that CK didn’t include with theirs.

Thanks for the pics Kuat! I did a lot of thinking everything over today about what sets I should get, or if I should just source parts instead, and your pics helped me decide that it’s best to just get both premium versions, sell what I don't need and add some upgrades. I’m going to add all the missing parts to the CK Neil and maybe mix and match a little too. It’s good to hear that you like his suit better than the HT Wayne. I like how the pinstripes are accurately subdued as they're a little too pronounced on CK’s. I’m definitely going to use CK’s shirt, tie & shoes but will decide what suit has the better overall look when I have them both in hand.

I started getting pumped about the armored car versions when I was looking at the proto pics, but then I saw a few pics on eBay. In the protos the stitching looks like the same color as the suit but I found these that make the stitching look darker:

It’s hard to tell in your pics because the flash might be washing it out, but do they stand out like the eBay pics or blend in like the proto?

Thanks for the info :duff. Not a huge deal anyway, you get a lot for the price of the armored car versions, and they look to be well worth it.

CK's Neil has mixed reviews. Definitely not perfect but personally I like it and seem to see more De Niro in it than others. When I get the CO set I'll be sticking with CK's sculpt, but I think the right blend of both sets will make a pretty sick Neil.

I think bank robber Chris is a very good foundation for the money. Not really digging the sculpts but with shades on he looks the part. I'd probably only upgrade the belt, shoes and source out more accurate shades, but out of the box it looks like a solid package for the money.

I took the plunge and went for these 2 premium sets toady. $408 shipped Priority from Ekia. I could've went with KG for $387 shipped via the slow boat, or $415 shipped via EMS but decided to keep it domestic.

As an aside, I watched Michael Mann's 1989 L.A. Takedown for the first time last night. It was a strange experience watching the identical story but with different actors. Some scenes went into Heat shot for shot, and some of the dialogue, too, such as McCauley (aka McLaren) jumping onto the desk during the bank robbery and telling everyone, "We want to hurt no one! We're here for the bank's money, not your money."

I've seen this as well, LA Takedown and the Jericho Mile were among Mann's earliest works, both TV movies. Strange experience is right LOL. Actually the screenplay for Heat used the armored car takedown scenario from LAT, while we got the much, MUCH better Andy McNab/Mick Gould designed takedown in the film.

Funny that Xander Berkley played Waingro in LAT and Ralph, Justine's joy boy in Heat.

You can find the whole film on YouTube, if you guys feel like checking it out, kind of tough if you've already seen Heat as it doesn't compare, but worthwhile as a bit of Michael Mann history (if you're a fan of his work).

Oh man, what a cool display that would make. Don't know if I can swing it financially now with the holidays coming up, but I do have the table from the DX11 set that would work for this.

That table should win figure of the year. It's in everything from diddley-eye-joe to damned if I know.

Seriously though, a dio of the restaurant scene would be epic. Remarkable that it was the first time those guys were together onscreen.

Nice

These figures show a weird mixture of sloppiness and attention to detail. The guns and Neil's suit are way off in ways that should have been easy to catch, yet the barely visible patterns on the ties are correct.

Overall though, they make a nice base for upgrades!

Well, my fellow Freaks-n-Geeks, I had these bad boys under the tree Christmas morning.

These are my first Craftone figures and I'm impressed for the most part. The weapons are....not good....but that's fine because they were always going to be swapped out.

I like the bodies used, though I may switch them out for these particular characters.

I have Chris in his bank robbery loadout underway, and when I get them all ready to go I will post pictures.
