I don't think Balboa is going to be outside with a crowd around in a streetfight at the end, but you never know. Ugh Rocky V was horrible. I was glad they made Rocky Balboa years later. One thing will be interesting to see how the Rocky character developed, however, and maybe goes out. I also hope Stallone and Weathers can bury the hatchet so that Apollo is able to make an appearance in flashback and maybe a couple of scenes with his son.

Bury the hatchet? What happened? Anyway, no way Weathers can show up, he's old. He was young when he died, so how is he going to look old in a flashback?

I'm just happy the got the director of Fruitvale writing and directing this, that at least tells me this won't be a Rocky V.

One of Rocky's toughest rivals is back.

The chicken!

They've already done the "takes a young fighter under his wing" story in the terrible Rocky V. I guess Sly just doesn't want to give up the character.

Apparently Weathers and Stallone had a falling out over the use of Rocky/Apollo footage in Rocky Balboa. Weathers wanted a payday and Stallone balked (or maybe it was just the amount, could have been the agents, who knows). I so wanted to see Weathers added to the Expendables cast. We did get Ivan Drago (Lundgren) and Simon Phoenix (Snipes) after all. As far as Apollo showing up in Creed, it could be just voiceover, face replacement with CGI smoothing and a body double, as well as archival footage from Rocky I-IV. So certainly doable. And if Rocky does croak in the end, he and Apollo can reunite in Boxing Heaven.

Since I grew up on Rocky I'm hoping this will be a good movie. I liked Rocky Balboa a lot and figured that was the swan song. But if this one closes the book, would be great to see the franchise go out with a winner.

I think this is going to be the start of a new franchise, it's more of a spin off than it is a sequel.

:lol:lol

I agree this will be bad. I really hope his philly accent doesn't resurrect itself like it did in Rocky V. Oh man, that was bad.

I hate having the accent :lol as I've gotten older, I've consciously tried to erase it from my vocabulary. It's such a perversion on the way certain words are pronounced. Water as Wuuder is the worst.

I doubt it. I don't see there being a big interest in several "Creed" films. I don't even see this one making big bank at the box office.

Straight to the bargain dvd bucket this one. Sly just won't give up on starring in films. Going to be pretty sad when he's in his 70s still trying to be the man, I like him he's not a great actor though.

Well, the fact that its called “Creed” and not “Rocky” is pretty telling and Sly isn’t the main character in this movie, Michael B Jordan is which pretty much leads me to believe they’re setting up a new franchise. Like any potential franchise though, if it bombs then I doubt there’ll be a sequel but I don’t see why it will. The budget won’t be big, and Michael B Jordan is becoming pretty big right now. It’s also being written and directed by the same guy who did Fruitvale Station so I think it has a pretty good shot at being successful.
