I noticed a few jacked up prices just over the last few days actually. The Han/Chewie set was only $609 and now suddenly it's $629. Their RRP change all the time - Gamora was $290 not long ago and is now $320. Why the rise? They had them in stock quite some time ago, so it's not like they've had to up the price because of the dollar.

Also I feel bad for other Aussies seeing as I was up at 4am to check for codes and went to the site then and ordered, but most people would have been asleep when all the Americans were raiding the site lol

Yeah it was so unfair for us Aussies.

I think a lot of things went out of stock..... But nothing I really wanted.

What did you end up ordering? I had 2 seperate orders, but both at the double discount, so I'm not sure if they will go through or not.

When i was at work i watched FB for codes just because it was easier and faster on my phone but when when i was at home i watched for them on here. Never really paid attention to the "nice" people so that did not bother me.

I was watching for the sources of the codes (Sideshow FB and Twitter), rather than relying on second hand sources, so the Spook FB page seemed irrelevant.

At first I thought codes might be somehow coming through Sideshow's website, Instagram and Pinterest as well!

At first I thought codes might be somehow coming through Sideshow's website, Instagram and Pinterest as well!

last year she had the exclusive fb group more exclusive and a lot of prizes/contests were given out to just those folks in the group, I have a feeling she wasn't happy with folks in the group (maybe me included) and didn't bother interacting much or feel the need to reward the members of the group as much and since she appointed a couple other admins to help "tyler" folks.

This year's spook was supposed to be bigger than last years, but sales weren't as good, hubby and I didn't buy anything this spook and it seemed like a lot less prizes, or maybe because its more spread out to IG/pinterest it seems less? I guess we will find out when SS releases the retail value of prize giveaways. Or maybe they let more folks get RP$ which is probably a lot better for the masses than a handful of people getting a figure.

I'd rather have the discounts, or the RPs to use on what I like whenever it's available (considering that some of their pricing is highly inflated nowadays!)

They're the 200aud figures. 30% lower dollar plus you don't pay the 10% GST, so yes, it is a deal for some of those figures. All the new preorders though are pretty much the same as Sideshow or even more than them.

Agreed, less interaction from SS, more brown nosing from folks, very odd spook. Everyone wants RP (I think they spread the love by giving more RP to more users which really is much nicer - spook usually unloads what they cant unload and have over stock, same with the other SM giveaways throughout the year for the most part, I cringe when its a voldermort - really dislike that figure, but someone else is happy to win one, so good for them.

That's both right and wrong. Yes Han & Chewie went from $609 to $629 and Gamora went from $290 to $320 just to mention two, but those weren't "jacked" prices. Those were always Popcultcha's RRP on those. They just removed the discount they had been offering. To be honest I've been waiting on them removing the Han/Chewie discount as they usually take away those discounts just before they come into stock. They did the same with SS ROTJ Vader and R2D2.

Yeah I noticed that when the Hot Toys Mark 3 and the SS 1/4 Mark 42 came into stock at Popcultcha not that long ago (as Aus get's it stock weeks to months after the US) their preorder prices held for just a few hours before both had their prices increased between 50 to 80 dollars I believe.

The same happens to restocks. The 1/4 Stormtrooper was $419.99, but then came back into stock at $499.99. Which makes sense here if they have to pay more in Aussie dollars to procure the stock.

Which is why I usually preorder my items at Popcultcha. Pay the $90 deposit and pay the balance when it comes in. Without having to worry that the prices increase before I see that it comes in. As their website updates their new stock any time during the day. Sometimes in the morning, and sometimes at night.

I got caught on SS R2D2. I was eyeing off a second, but before I could order they took away the discount and the full price was still more than the discounted price during their 12 days of Christmas sale. I'm hoping they get in HT Old Ben and Stormtrooper Luke before that sale since they no longer give the discounts on pre-orders.
