I thought the codes were being shared by freaks members that they received through emails being subscribed to sideshows newsletters and Spooktacular updates as well as the codes being shared on all of sideshows social media pages that freaks subscribe to like Facebook Twitter and the like.

I didn't realize that the codes were being given out by sideshow employees directly to the sideshow freaks website for us just members only who behave and don't offend anyone.

My mistake.

I don't know what's personal about it. A representative of the event gives the (obvious) reason we are being excluded and instead of being cordial so we all have a chance at cool stuff, these supposed collectors double down by insulting the hosts of the event. They are putting their desire to be creeps over the good of the participants of this forum.

But they are acting on behalf of their employer here, not themselves personally. If they were simply Freaks members on their own time, that's different - but these are company reps acting in an official capacity. They are, in effect, Sideshow the company.

So Sideshow, the company that produces very sexually suggestive statues, is saying that very sexually suggestive gifs are inappropriate.

But I agree on the gifs - if it isn't funny or clever then I just roll my eyes, and the sexism aspect is very clear (and hello - where are the mods?) - but to some degree I feel the same way about Sideshow's statues.

Their company cannot compel them to interact in a way that would constitute sexual harassment. It's not Sideshow's policy, but the law that makes it more than appropriate for them to refuse to reward threads posting smut.

And before the chorus of picture of Sideshow products, that's the company's products, that's different because it's actually for sale from the company. These pervy gifs, however, have absolutely nothing to do with either the event or product. If you want boards that reward such things, I'm sure there's a subreddit for that.

The $30 code from the text is expiring. Don't really see any figures I really want but it's such a waste not to use it!! Thinking maybe Stan Lee.

That was never the point. The point is is that Sideshow reps aren't on here giving us hints etc and interacting with the Freaks. RP has nothing to do with this.

The Valdemort deal is really tempting; $150, free shipping, and $19 in reward points. I like the character but I'd rather spend that kind of money on something I really want, Like X-Wing Luke Skywalker or Imperial TIE Pilot for $150 and free shipping. If only.

Where it may be true that these Gifs aren't inappropriate to most of the male collectors on this forum, but from the few posts from the female collectors it would seem to indicate they feel otherwise.

Hypocrisy or not, but at least for now codes (and common courtesy) etc should take priority.
