So what is a Facebook event? Do Log in somewhere at a certain time? I went to your link and clicked a "join" button, is that all I have to do to be part of the event? Sorry I know I sound stupid but I dont use Facebook and somehow their User interface is confusing to me.

You just click "join" to be part of the event. Then when things are posted within the event, you should be notified.

They will be giving things away on the SSC FB page next week, it's a bigger event like the one they had celebrating 100,000 likes. The point of my event page is to give hints and clues to the questions being asked for the giveaways.

If we get a certainly number of people attending the event, a giveaway will be posted on the event, but not on their FB page. So only people who are part of the event have a chance to win.
