I hate Apple, too many restrictions.
I'm in no way tech savvy but any device that doesn't allow memory expansion, so they can charge more for larger memory devices, suck!

The thing I hate most about Apple, other than over-priced everything is iTunes. I hate very few things more than iTunes. Epic POS!

Say that after you crack open an iPhone or an iPad and look closely at how integrated and constrained everything is. Design is compromise.
The only thing I don't like is the constant BS the media spins about Apple, along with so-called analysts manipulating the stock. When they were on the bottom they frequently got kicked. Now that they've been on the top for over 10 years, someone's constantly trying to knock them down. I'm a customer, a developer and a shareholder. But I've still got more machines running Windows and Linux as well than most people have owned in 10 or 15 years.
So I got to see a couple of nudie pics this week which was cool, but my Apple stock is down almost 5 points, which is not cool.

Now build quality is where Apple excel.

iPhone $100 for each upgrade, but if they had MicroSD it would be MUCH cheaper
They could easily engineer the space for a MicroSD slot. They want to force/gouge users to buy the phones with more storage.

Seriously? I repair a **** load of Apple phones at work but I also do get a lot of Samsung phones (mostly for the charging port) and Piper they have great design but that design also makes it hard for regular ppl to be able to fix their own stuff. Everything they're doing is so the customer is Entirely dependent on them.

He probably means the ITunes store and not the interface itself (the only apple product i have is an IPod Classic and only cause nothing else can hold as much music as I have)

No, I mean everything in iTunes, period.
If you want something that holds more than your classic get a streaming media box then map it to your hard drive/music dir. That's what I do and even keep one in the bathroom

I used to work for a certain hardware company and worked closely with Apple for much of that time, some 10 years. Believe what you want, but everything they do is to make the best product. Period. Not necessarily the best product "possible" as considerations have to be made for the market, price points, margin, etc. But the best nonetheless. Usually at competitive pricing for equivalent hardware. How much does it cost to keep a $500 Windows system running? How about an OS update? One of those on a lower end system and you're already at the price of a better equipped Mac. Apple sells their OS for $0.
When Apple had 32GB phones every Android phone on the planet maxed out at 8GB and even though some of them had SD slots, the OS couldn't use them for much of anything - couldn't load apps from SD, managing things like images on SD was a nightmare. I know a few people with Android phones, but I don't know anyone who has ever updated their phone to an OS other than what it shipped with.
My Windows systems (all of which I built) are on XP for vertical legacy apps and Win7 (PVR and music server). Then I have some Linux servers and NAS too. I use what's convenient for the job, but when it comes to recommending product to family and friends, it's been Apple for 10+ years. That doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon.

The biggest problem with iTunes has been the loss of native interface and the move to a web view which has only gotten slower and more convoluted with every version. iTunes 7 was the peak of usability and performance, IMO. The first version I found usable and unfortunately the last before things started going downhill. There is too much crammed into that one app and I'd love to see it split up. BUT… No one else has an app even remotely close to providing even half the functionality at any price, let alone free, whether it works with Apple hardware or not. Google doesn't have anything, MS doesn't have anything. Samsung? HTC? Nope. Nope.
