Well, that depends on how you look at it. I've been doing GISHWHES for 5 years (look it up. It doesn't get much more humiliating/strange than that), I work in a very international position with a lot of responsibility and contact with customers and I'm 37 years old. But my colleagues all know and don't care one whit (they just think it's funny), and I try to keep it to something that's fun but not something to be ashamed of. Something people can laugh at instead of feeling awkward over. I don't mind being that person dressed as a Christmas tree once, as long as it was done properly. I won't be the person dressed in whipped cream for a free beer either.
Usually it's just ourselves who are afraid of making a fool of ourselves.
I'm not entering this competition, though, as I have guests coming over later to celebrate my birthday which was a few days ago, otherwise I totally would

Ooooooh another $10 code. That makes $50. I wonder if that's the end of it. Last year they were all $5 and the very last one was $10.
