There is a cardboard 'neck brace' inside of Fetts cloth neck. Just pull the cloth down and tear out the card board or pop Fett's head off and pull the card board out. This will help with the neck size and make it look natural.

I'm not a Fett fan.... so can someone tell me what's so wrong about the Sideshow version? its looks about right to me and... well, the same as this new version. :lol

What are the differences?

Its broader at the base. The Medicom RAH is a good example. Got an image here, hope I upload it correctly...

I've been up for 24 hours...and I'm really tired  The best way to explain it would be to follow the deconstruction I started as I was doing it here:

at StatueForum post #190 on.
The biggest gripe from Anal Fett fans (such as myself) is the shape of the helmet....it looks nice...but it's just plain wrong in shape. Nathan seems to have corrected this in his sculpt. I look forward to seeing how it fits size wise. If he did the great job I think he did we'll all really see a major difference.

Hi Nathan, am pretty eager to see how will your final work look when painted.

starting to build one helmet up as a test run for painting.

used a saw to remove the excess resin from the base and sanded the rest of the stump off.

i then drilled a hole in the base to allo it to be mounted on the sideshow statue. plus it gives a place to stick a peg in so i dont have to handle the piece while painting it.

the rest of the shots show the piece after initial sanding, filling and first primer coats.

ahh ok i see the difference now. All this time I thought the flaring out at the bottom look was something Hasbro did to fit the helmet on over the heads of the figures, lol

never knew it was the actual shape :lol

Boba Fett's helmet does have a unique and hard to capture shape to it. The original helmet was based off a street lamp though which lamp was used has never been figured out or found.

^ I thought it was the Slave one that was designed from a street lamp not his helmet
That makes a lot more sense. Slave 1 definitely looks like a street lamp. A really cool street lamp.

I received Nathan's helmet kit today. Thanks Nathan! Looks good. Can't wait until I have the time to start working on it!!

just quickly handpainted on some test colours to see how they look.

ill have to try weathering them down to see what it does to the base colours.

I've got one on order, but looking at that screen used 1:1 helmet, I was wondering how difficult it would be to remove the black portions and substitute in some smoked film to simulate the look.
