Jesus, I didn't know you were going to offer this for sale! Thought it was a personal project. Let me know when the pre-order opens, I'm all in for this...

Thanks Queromarvel. Like all of my projects - Dredd started out as a personal project because I'm a huge long time Dredd fan and loved the movie. Then two repeat customers asked for copies. Then it grew from there. lol

Sent you a PM.

I'd like to know more about this Tinister!

Re: Custom "Dredd 3D" "Judge Dredd" Figure - Updated with some pre-order info

It's a little more work on my end, but I've worked it out so that the ballistic vest, collar piece, shoulder pieces, and the utility belt will be rigged as a unit. So if you want to display Dredd in just his moto jacket and pants - with the un-helmeted HS; you'll just have to:

1) Unlatch the gun holster tether from the belt
2) Unlatch the belt at the buckle
3) Separate the vest front at the zipper border (will be well concealed micro-velro)
4) Unhook the left and right shoulder pieces from the arm sleeves

And then simply pull the entire rigging off from the back. And you can do it without removing the head.

Much easier than on the prototype where you have to remove the belt first. Then unhook the shoulder pieces from the vest. Then unlatch the front vest from the back vest. Then remove the collar. etc.

This will also allow me to make all the pieces much more streamlined so that there isn't all this straps and strap loops everywhere on the back sides of the pieces. So you could conceivably display the vest with the belt, shoulder, and collar next to Dredd and it would look presentable.

Also - since the moto suit is real leather - it may be good to take the vest off every once in a while to let the leather breathe.

Yes. I try to think of everything.

Awesome design Tin!

I can't wait to see that unhelmeted sculpt! This is great!

Thanks guys. The un-helmeted HS will be revealed along with some of the to-do tweeks when I set up the interest thread at the end of the month. Tin

Re: Custom "Dredd 3D" "Judge Dredd" Figure - Updated with some pre-order info

Okay. So along with interest in the Dredd figure these past couple days - I've now received a total of 12 inquiries about producing a Judge Anderson figure.

Originally - I had 3-4 inquiries and was toying around with the idea of doing an Anderson figure to match Dredd. But I wanted to wait to see reception for Dredd first.

So now that inquiries have passed the 10 mark and Dredd has been received so well; It is likely that I will make time to work on an Anderson figure for sure.

But I want to get Dredd out of the way completely first.

That's awesome news! I'm extremely interested to see how you decide to tackle her hair!

My girlfriend/fiancee is a hair stylist btw. I may enlist her to help figure out a good solution :)

I'm also thinking that if you bought a Dredd figure from me - I'll *maybe* offer a good discount to those buyers for Anderson. We'll see :D

Re: Custom "Dredd 3D" "Judge Dredd" Figure - Updated with some pre-order info

Yes! Sculpted hair can be great and all, but it's the customs with styled hair that I think bump it to the next level!

Haha, that'd be awesome if you gave a discount!! I'm gonna personally hold you to it. ;)

Operative word being *maybe* :wink1:

Re: Custom "Dredd 3D" "Judge Dredd" Figure - Updated with some pre-order info

I think stylized 1/6 hair presents a logistical problem. I could probably make the hair look awesome. Take pictures of it and post it. But the styling goes away over a short time. Which is fine if it is my own figure, but what about people who buy the figure from me? They can't take the figure in every 3 weeks for a styling. lol

Re: Custom "Dredd 3D" "Judge Dredd" Figure - Updated with some pre-order info

I didn't realize that it'd require styling every 3 weeks. Luckily her hair isn't really long so sculpted can work well too. Maybe sort of how the HT DX11 Joker is done?

Re: Custom "Dredd 3D" "Judge Dredd" Figure - Updated with some pre-order info

Awesome update Tin. Personally, I vote for sculpted hair because I can't shake the Barbie feel of the rooted hair figures that I've seen out an about recently. But not saying that it can't be done!
