Also some painting. The body mods complete (a comparison shot with an un modified Tracker body first) and the layers going on to the main trunk.
I have completed the top layers, all bar a bit of detailing, and will have it ready for an assembly shot over the weekend.

Great job thus far!!

And some work on the armour, starting with the chest armour from the original predator. A little bit of trimming around the arm socket to fit the beefy shoulder, and removal of the right shoulder piece to allow for the bigger back. Then a base coat of bonze metallic, then thin applications of matt black. Some buffing and weathering, and it is starting to look good.

And what self respecting Elder custom would be complete without the lazer sight?
The beauty of the new HT armour is the battery box, switch an lighting socket are already there for you. With the donation of an LED from a Tracker mask I needed to simply cut a groove in the armour to hide some of the wire.
Next will come a small container to hide the bulb, with 3 holes for the red tri-lazer effect.

The body mods look great, but have you considered getting a loose Shadow/Classic body off eBay instead? With some good paint, Tracker's body will look great, but certain things like the reptilian scales on the back and the ridges on his thigs might throw things off. Just my thoughts.

The chest armour and some heavy sanding and creative painting has dealt with the crest on the back, and some filling, sanding and painting has dealt with the ridges on the thighs. I have got a Shadow body... using that to do a Predator 2 when this one is done.

I really cant wait to see how this turns out, keep us updated man and keep up the good work.

p2?! Nice! I really like how this is coming out. How much time did you put into just sanding? Or do you own a dremel?

Dear edstuff,
a cheap version of a dremmel is what I used, but it does have about 100 different attachments... and a variable speed.
The P2 is going to take some work too... I had a HT one and was never happy with the bulky aromur and skinny body. This custom will be tight, so the Shadow Pred armour will all be trimmed or re-casted as required.

So here are a few pics of the work so far, put together as a "dry run". As you can see, still some work to do like the leg armour is too shaort and the thigh armour about 25% too small.

HOLY MOTHER OF!!!!

Looking at your last pics, now you officially made my factory default P2 elder looks all the more closer to a Toy Story side characters left in the cutting room.

You dove into this thing head first. I can't wait for the finished product.

all the armor looks a little small on that body, really. you might be better off waiting for the Classic to come out and use some of his armor.

Nah mate, it will all look right with a little sculpey and recasting. Trust me.

I mean, it doesn't bother me if your armor looks small, but right now it is super small. You better do a lot of resculpting or whatever you have in mind if you want it to look absolutely wonderful.

Like I said, a little sculpey and a bit of painting trickery.
I may extend the left side a tiny bit more, but I think the chest armour is spot on compared to the prop pic I am working from. And the shin armour is still on the "to do" list.
As for waiting for the Classic to com out, firstly the shoulder cannon is wrong, secondly he is likely to be a shortie so that he is in scale to the super preds... remember this body was a Tracker! Plus if the armour does just fit then where would the challenge be? I enjoy the problem solving in a custom project.

ok, so, that actually looks pretty good. i will assume you're gonna make casts for everyone on here and i'll close this window right after i post so i can't see your answer. pm me for my shipping addy.

I can recast if anyone wants. I will also be casting and trimming the wrist armour as the HT ones are too bulky.
