Much like martial arts films I have a total obsession with luchadores and Rey Mysterio in particular. Since they don't make many luchadore figures, I have been swapping heads on the deluxe aggression figures for a couple of years now as I like the articulation they offer. So here in all of it's glory is my growing luchadore army. Take into account that these are only the ones I have created, I also have any DA Rey Mysterio that they have put out, unaltered...
Okay, this has got to be the quickest customization I've done.... Picked up the DCD Joker this afternoon and since I have the Hot Toys way on pre-order as well, I decided to have fun with this one. Touched up the paint, fixed his eyes as the factory paint job had one eye looking too far up and gave hime some "hair". I know the shade of green is too intense, but I think it fills out the head better and looks crazier... i wasn't even about to attempt to sculpt that stringy hair!! Las but not least, I gave him his chain...
got to hand it to DCD, they did a bang up job on this one...
Time for more martial arts! The first one up is kind of ironic. It's my take on the Monkey King. I went for more of a traditional Peking Opera makeup look, taking my ideas from various photos that I found online. What makes it ironic is that I used a Jet Li figure from Hero as the base. Jet Li ended up playing the Monkey King in Forbidden Kingdom... I made this figure almost four years ago! I though that was pretty cool...
Next is a "street clothes" Jacke Chan. I got the head off of ebay and repainted the eyes and did some pastel work on the face. I wanted a version of Jackie that was "normal".
This one needs to go up in the Road Warrior/Mad Max thread under General Movie/TV Discussion. Seriously. What is the story behind this head? Great work!
Thanks... the Mel head was picked up off of oBay and I added some more hair to make him scruffy looking like in Road Warrior. The hat for Zorro (actually the whole outfit) came from one of Sideshows Civil War figures...
