I really don't think many people like to give used items as gifts.

Bingo. Plus if I could personally buy a new version or used version of a game at the same price give me the new.

Just from watching amazon the deals I think have been pretty decent. All depends on what you're looking for.

So far the deals that I've been seeing aren't any better than the random deal I get in emails regularly. I'm a bit disappointed.

The games at the prices you guys are listing are roughly what you can get them for used at Gamestop right now. I guess if you only buy new games they were pretty good deals, but MGS IV for $15, though certainly worth it, isn't a ground shattering value right now. It would have been a year ago, but we aren't a year ago. Also, I was referring to Marvel Ultimate Alliance as the game that will go down in price pretty quickly, but looking at eBay ended auction prices, it seems that the Amazon price, again, was pretty close to current market value.

If they had Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for $20, then it would have been a damn good deal, but we didn't see that. They are giving us games that really aren't selling themselves for prices that really aren't dirt cheap. These deals are OK, but they haven't been that special.

Don't forget, Amazon is also offering the huge incentive of not having to deal with the choads who work at Gamestop.

I'm finally going to be purchasing my first blu-ray player today and want to spend around $100-$150 for one that allows streaming. Any suggestions as to brand/model number?

All of the reviews on Amazon are confusing me! :panic:

We have our PS3 as our main BR player but I'm thinking about picking this one up for the bedroom. It's gotten good reviews and from what I've read on tech sites it's a good player.

Black Friday deals weren't that great either. Seemed like deals that would randomly appear through-out the year. So BF and CM pretty much = clearance the backstock of stuff we can't get rid of.

I am a bit suprised seeing BR players drop so vastly in price over the past year. The one VASith listed is a good deal IMO.

From an article posted on Yahoo, it seems that the best time to buy a new TV might be after the Holidays. They are predicting deep discounts on some because of overstock and the introduction of newer technologies.

Yeah not to mention you can get ones with WiFi built in for dang cheap too.

Makes my $400 Sony unit look like a fossil now. :lol

No doubt. I'll take Amazon over Wal-Mart/Best Buy/Gamestop/etc. every day. But their Cyber Monday deals are still less than mind-blowing. Like theMike says, the deals don't seem any different than a typical sale to me.

Yeah?
Should I just stop the nonsense and purchase it? I'm exhausting myself between brands, all the different model numbers and all the nit-picky reviewers!

:thud:

Well... like Mike said in a post, you could wait till after Christmas (day sale). Which is probably what I would recommend, since stores wanna clear out stock. But if you need one now, go for that player =)

Yup, Whats nice is having netflix on them. Even the gimmicky "3D" players have dropped in price, which is no shock.

Okay- the new reviews on that particular player say that the latest firmware update no longer allows Netflix streaming!

And, yeah- kinda want the player sooner rather than later. I feel like I've waited long enough!

Yeah, the only "deals" I've gone for were things I was going to buy anyway. I was going to buy Fallout New Vegas this week either way, so $20 off is very nice. But if I was just shopping for steals, it's a pass.

I've found so many movie and video game deals that I've had to cut myself off. I'm disappointed in the lack of kids' toy sales though. It's all movies and video games. :monkey2
