Now that we know a 1/4th Cyclops is coming "soon," a Jean Grey (Jim Lee) or classic Phoenix/Dark Phoenix in 1/4th is my new dream item.

I agree :lecture

You definately don't want a fabric cape with a sculpted body. Fabric capes tend to turn out looking about as cheesy as you can get on a sculpted statue.
While I agree in that I prefer sculpted capes, I think fabric capes can work if done correctly. Some of the fabric capes used on the Star Wars PFs look great; Dooku comes to mind. Storm could easily have a cape like his. :dunno

That picture would be ther perfect concept art for a 1/4th classic Dark Phoenix. Make it happen Sideshow, please make it happen...and none of the this alternate-universe-ultimates-1/5th-costume-that-she-briefly-wore crap.

:goodpost::exactly: This post deserves an award.

Leave the alternate crap to 1/5 scale and let the gift card eligibility hit them on the way out.

If they give Jean or Dark Phoenix a G.I. Jane haircut from a 4 cover miniseries when she had head lice, heads will roll............

On the upside fans of bicentinneal man can custom the, Colossus comiquette. They would just have to repaint the costume since the heads already done.

Fixed it for you.:lol

Seriously. Jean Grey in her 90s garb, as Marvel Girl, and/or Phoenix is long over due. What are they waiting for?

She also deserves a LSB as well.

:exactly:

Since they're going with the Jiim Lee X-Men in PF most likely the PF will be in her Lee costume. I'm hoping for very little fabric and mostly sculpting when they do Jean since I don't think that costume would look very good in fabric.

Honestly, her New X-Men, Phoenix, or Marvel Girl looks would be better suited for fabric, but they have to stick to a set. A case could be made for both since they're all pretty iconic.

Most probably they will choose the Lee design for the PF, and perhaps the Phoenix costume for the comiquette, although I am Not sure if I would like this selection, as I'd really want a Phoenix PF...:gah: you are right, so many iconic costumes!!!

:goodpost: Definitely. Jim Lee's work is, of course, not canon. Only Cockrum/Byrne designs as 1/4 scale statues, Sideshow. Put all the other crap in 1/5th scale, like fuzzy says.

Huh? I don't think fuzzy was saying what you said here. :dunno

I seriously doubt Sideshow is going to shift away from Jim Lee inspired costumes for the PF line. I don't think another artist' s line of costumes would be a big seller because collectors have already started the Jim Lee line with Gambit, Wolverine, Cyclops and Rogue. Like it or not, the Jim Lee era of the X-Men was one of the most popular times for the X-Men and also offers the biggest customer base for Sideshow as the majority of these readers are in their 30's.

I would agree though, I don't want a full body suit for rogue.

I want a sculpted body suit with fabric coat for Rogue. :naughty

For Storm, I think I tend to favor the fabric cape, especially for any type of flying pose. They could do a fabric cape right by sewing in the shape-able wire all along the edges of the cape (like the Gambit coat) so you could shape it in whatever style you wanted (i.e. - flying, standing, etc). If it was a sculpted cape, it would limit you to one pose and if it was a flying pose it would be really big (like the Thor PF) and might look out of scale when placed with the other X-Men. Just my two cents.

Well, I think Lee drew the brown Wolvie for the most part, and even then, that isn't a Lee design (the horrible yellow and blue outfit here probably was). And I realize that they are doing Lee-era costumes, but it bums me out since many of those costumes suck so bad. Oh, well. I guess it's this or nothing for Cyclops, so you do what you gotta do. Personally, I'm gonna lobby Sideshow to reconsider :rock

BTW, I'm 30 and I grew up reading comics in the 80s. By the time the 90s cheese rolled around, I was getting away from comics.
