After listening to it a few times I really like this album. I love the whole 70s/80s electronics era concept. It has a definite nostalgia feel to it. Anyone looking for another "Homework" or "Discovery" album are gonna be outta luck.

I'm loving it too, for the same reasons. I feel like this album is going to to get almost the same backlash from "fans" as the Tron Legacy soundtrack got for not being a dance album. How dare Daft Punk try something different!!

But you have to respect a group as popular as them that still make music for the art of it and not for the fame. Props!

I see. . .still, I would never use any comparison ever between this group and the Beatles. Even if you're just talking hair style or dietary preferences.

The only band that can do such a thing is, of course, Oasis.

Only because I'm in the arguing mood. . .

The Beatles are highly. . . HIGHLY overrated.

I've listened to the vinyl mix and the CD mix a few different times each, and I think I'd want both in my collection.

Vinyl sounds like you're listening to the musicians play in the room with you. The sound really fits well with the whole vibe of RAM.

The CD is just so clean. It almost reaches being too clean, but stays in that nice territory where every single instrument can be easily picked out, but doesn't sound unnatural. The drums don't sound as warm on the CD, not surprisingly, but the drumming is so good on this album that I like being able to hear it cleanly. It's a little brickwalled, but I don't really mind that in this case.

this album is so "catchy" from front to back, its as if the devil made it ... :monkey1

I think you may be right. I've been tempted and can't stop listening to it. I think I've rocked Contact about 26 times in the last 24 hours lol. I agree with coke, the drum work (Giorgio and Contact) is just ridiculous.

this album is polarizing to some but I love EVERY single track especially contact, doing it right, and Giorgio by Moroder.

I had never heard Panda Bear / AC before this, and checked out a few of his songs prior to the release. I was not into it, at all. His "Singing like the Beach Boys from another room" schtick didn't do anything for me.

But I'm glad a singer I couldn't get into was on DIR, a track I actually think is one of the, if not the weakest tracks on the album. It had high potential, but just goes nowhere. But given that potential, I'm excited to see what DP does on their remix album.
