I'm with Dusty! I think this rocks! It is going to be a sweet display! I also don't fully understand the negativity... I remember very well that many people were begging for this set at the start of the Premium Format Star Wars figures. Now if the line gets cut short and figures don't get done, (e.g. Weta LOTR) I could see people complaining that they shouldn't have done multiple Lukes, Hans, etc. But until then, I will take what they give us, especially when it is one of the most memorable scenes from ESB. :chew :chew :chew

I think most of the reaction is due to the character choice, not the quality of the piece. Years from now, when this is but one piece among many, I bet it will be one that a lot of people will point to as a favorite.

(Second only to Fett, of course.)

Agreed Tom, for me it's just why now when I was hoping for something different. When you are building a PF collection, you think of Variety and representation of characters and this is an early repeat character.

Well it happens a lot. We see a preview and nitpick the hell out of it. Discuss how it should have been done. Add more suggestions and sometimes even photoshop them. Warm up to it as more product photos show.
Then we all buy it and post pics and swoon over how wonderful it is.

Ahhhh! I see! Now I completely understand!

Seriously, I think people will like this once they get over the shock of a repeat character. Maybe since many feel that the previous Luke is the weakest of the SW PF figures, Sideshow decided to give them another... that would be one way to look at it anyway...

I don't think folks are being negative. I haven't read a post yet saying its a bad looking piece. What I and others are saying is that this might be a tad early to repeat another Luke. I will more than likely order this after setting and thinking about it because I do think it will be a good piece.

If the edition size is somewhat low I'll be happy. I'm justy sick of wasting money. As earlier I read the post about scarface going for $110 from a dealer which is now sold out, but with all the high end stuff coming I must be wise. And if this edition is near the other luke it will be a waste. Even last years SDCC PF Luke was going cheap.

The re-peat characters is what made me sell all my buffy stuff. I hate to be negative but I had high hopes. I have all the SW pf figures and now I just dream of who will be added to the family. Another Luke doesn't count. Anyone would be a plus.

I don't know, maybe we should pray for a high ES. I feel this one is going to be expensive direct from sideshow. But I know what you mean, I would want this one to hold its value, especially if the exclusive is as good as Dusty is implying.

If you guys don't like it, quit complaining. We waited long enough for a new PF announcement and this is awesome. I will be keeping both PF Lukes in my collection.

I would have liked a stormtrooper first but oh well.


Dusty, I assume you mean "Bespin" Luke was your favorite as a kid. There was not a Kenner "Dagobah" Luke released in the early 80s.

I actually agree with Josh on this. WAAAY too early to go this route. It's a great looking piece, but do we really need another Luke this soon?

It looks like that original SS list is holding up pretty well. I guess we can expect the droids, Qui-Gon, Maul, and Boba Fett to be next.

About this repeat character point, I was thinking,

What would maybe have been another way to introduce Yoda to the PF line?

I would have loved to see TESB Yoda in his hut (as a background environment) from the scene where he is revealing his identity to Luke, maybe with a light function lantern or candle to reflect his expression and the stoned hut walls behind him, maybe even have a hut window opening...

Moot point now I know and I'm sure we'll see another Yoda, probably with drawn light sabre ready to strike, but I just felt we should have seen him as a separate piece first... and if he's an OT PF, well, anyway, I can dream...

Gruson you complain about something on everything so why can't those of us that would have liked to see someone else before another Luke say so?
