Damaged Lord Darkness

Hi,
I have a Lord Darkness with damaged paint. It pretty much just flakes off with your fingernail. I was going to strip it and repaint it myself. Any suggestions on a new color? I was thinking a dark blue with glowing eyes... kind of the color he looks at the beginning of the movie? Any suggestions?

Yeah, this was another in the line of Sideshow busts that had major painy issues. Total bull____!!!

I dont know ____ about painting so I can be of no help.

I am not sure what steps SS uses to paint but I did not see any primer under the flaky paint.

No, your premium format should be fine, but a handful of their busts had this paint flaking issue.

I figure eventually every Darkness LSB is gonna look like that.

Huh, I just did a search on Sideshow's site and the Darkness Legendary Scale Bust is nowhere to be found.


Guess Sideshow was that shamed of their shotty paint they removed it from their site altogether.

That really sucks. Full refunds should have followed every bust that did that.

I have the Midnight Darkness and hopefully SSC used different paint apps on it. I should check it for flaking.

Same thing with the Iron Man bust. No primer under that one either

I had that too, for about 5 minutes. Opend the box,picked it up and a thumb sized chunk of paint flaked off as soon as I touched it. Once out of the box I saw a few more flakes of paint that came off during shipping. Took some pix, packed it back up and sent it to Sideshow for a full refund.

I really hope the person got a refund from Sideshow and was allowed to keep it That being said whoever got it (assuming they can repaint it) just got a hell of a deal. Even model kits don't sell for that low.

Yes. That is the same one from ebay. I figured it was something I could try and fix but NO WAY. I had to remove all the paint. What color should I paint it!?
