The only thing I really didn't like about S1 of Punisher was tying the plot into his family's murders. They already convoluted the murders in DD with the undercover sting operation stuff, they didn't need to add yet another layer to it. Should've just had the plot be about Frank finding out that his military unit got up to some pretty nasty stuff, that he was lied to about his missions, making him complicit in it, and Frank wanting revenge for it (with an underlining suggestion that it's all just an excuse for him to start fighting again).

S2 was... okay. I think it got stuck in an awkward position wherein they already greenlit it but Netflix wanted to move on from their Marvel shows by the time it started production, so nobody really cared and the budget got slashed to ribbons. I'll always like Jigsaw's final scene, though, where
Jigsaw tries to have a final bonding moment with Frank but Frank just casually shoots him and walks away.

The biggest problem with Punisher is that he's always, airways going to have to be watered down for a mass audience.
You aren't going to see The Slavers adapted for a television audience, for instance.
You won't see him purposely throw Jigsaw through a window in order to scar him.
You won't see him run over Wolverine with a steamroller.
You won't see him decapitate The Russian and present the head to Ma Gnucci.
They humanize him on screen. Every time. Because you won't get a large enough audience to justify a Punisher film or show if you don't make him more palatable. So e get things like "torturing" a gangster with Popsicles. Or needing to be coaxed into going after criminal again after "retiring".
Bernthal's Punisher is the best one we've gotten on screen, but he's still too watered down for my tastes.

Mostly true. But from memory wasn’t the Ray Stevenson version basically this?

PWZ is bad.

Jane’s was much better.

Netflix best Punisher so far though.

Jane's Punisher was heavily neutered (Popsicles!)
Part of the problem with it is his crazy elaborate plan, when in the comics Punisher would just kill them all and move on.
Well, he might have disemboweled Travolta instead of just killing him.
Ironically, the most comic-accurate Punisher's were Dolph Lundgren's and PWZ. PWZ was like Garth Ennis's Punisher Max series come to life.
I can accept those portrayals are not palatable to a mass audience, though. But I would give good money to see Bernthal hit Hugh Jackman in the nuts with a baseball bat and shoot him in the face with a shotgun. Or at least slap Mark Ruffalo in the face and call him a bitch.

Fair enough.

Jane’s extended cut is just an overall good action movie with some cool Punisher elements and moments.

But as an overall “film”, Jane’s is better made than that cheesefest PWZ.

You know what i want? Devil in Cell Block D. Specifically, Punisher turning himself in so he can "protect" Daredevil (Who has to pretend he's just blind Matt Murdock), and Daredevil having a stroke every time Punisher kills someone.
Bernthal and Cox would kill it.

I can dream.

Visually this looks phenomenal very cinematic the action looks bonkers.

Go to the 20 seconds mark, that background pushing backwards when DD looks down to his left is a pretty damn cool visual representation of his senses at work which was never shown in the previous seasons…damn this looks great.

I love that leap at the end.

I just hope they don’t rely too much on CGI for his movements and action.

In She Hulk he was far too superhuman.

I much prefer the grounded Daredevil who takes hits, has to really lay into someone to take them down and suffers from fatigue after and during a fight.
I agree but that last leap was definitely practical.
