I'm really excited! I love Elektra!
Hell, I even loved Garner as Elektra (in Daredevil, her standalone Elektra movie was terrible!)
Granted, that movie was done back when X-Men was just kicking off, and Spider-Man was the biggest thing Superhero, so it was a different time! I actually really, really enjoy that movie. I had fun with the theatrical release when I saw it, but I'm a HUGE fan of the director's cut. If you guys haven't seen the director's cut of the movie, definitely go pick it up!
It adds 30 minutes to the movie, and an entire subplot where Murdock actually tries a case, and it all ties into the main storyline, even though that's not how it originally looks. FOX decided to cut it short and lose that time in order to allow it to play more times in a day and keep the faster pacing. That seems to be the way FOX worked back then (and today at times also!
) as we all know from their messing up the order of which Firefly episodes to premiere with, and eventually canning that show.
Anyway, Daredevil: Director's Cut is like, $5 on Blu-ray from just about everywhere! Don't expect Netflix quality...as I mentioned, 2003 was a different time!
There's some bad CGI of him jumping through the city, and a few cringe-worthy lines, but overall, I think it's a really fun flick! And I'll stand by that the funeral scene when Elektra puts up the umbrella so that Matt can't see her, and then she gets into the car, and the reflection of the rain on her face acts as the tears she can't cry...very well shot. Love the Evanescence soundtrack too.
Okay, my gushing over that flick is done now. Destroy me if you must!
PS: now we know where XM got the boot buckle idea from!
