I'm a DC fan, and have only casually followed Marvel Universe movies.. I've watched the entire Daredevil series, and it's pretty impressive.
Looking forward to season 2.

For the Daredevil experts, may I ask if there is a chance Daredevil Charlie Cox will be crossing over to other Marvel shows like Agents of Shield? :) I've heard so many references to Thor (magic hammer), Iron man (Suit of Armor) and Captain America (literally uttered by Foggy)

Thanks. Any news or rumor of the other way around, where Marvel characters will guest at Daredevil, such as Mockingbird, Falcon or even Shield Agents? :)

I'm actually completely fine with her casting. I liked her in GI Joe.

But here's a new teaser poster.

She just doesn't really have the look in my opinion, or the acting chops from the little I've seen her of her. Hopefully she can hold her own around some talented actors.

Elodie Yung has joined the cast of Daredevil in season two as Elektra Natchios, daughter of the ambassador to Greece, lover of Matt Murdock and also ninja assassin. I wonder if Yung got the role partially because her work in GI Joe: Retaliation basically had her dress like Elektra and be trained by a blind man.

Yung's casting seems to indicate that the show wants to lean on its actors for action - she has a black belt in karate. I can't say that I know what her acting chops are like, as the films I've seen her in - the aformentioned GI Joe and also a role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - didn't really leave much of a Yung-shaped mark on my mind. Maybe she's good? I assume that she's going to have to be able to carry some dramatic weight, as the relationship between Matt and Elektra is one of comicdom's most famous.

What's interesting is that Marvel is opting to racebend Elektra. Yung is French-Cambodian, and she has a look that has allowed her to play plenty of Asian characters. Elektra, meanwhile, is very much Greek - one of the few characters whose ethnicity is actually part of her story (and her name). I don't know if Daredevil is going to ignore Yung's heritage - sort of the way white people played Indians and Mexicans in Hollywood forever and ever - or if they're going to give Elektra some eastern heritage in addition to being Greek. I mean, she has to be Greek - Foggy called her 'the Greek girl' in the first season, and I suspect he wasn't talking about backdoor lovin'.

Maybe she can act, but with all the info we have right now, I think its horrible casting. She doesn’t look Greek at all.

I'm really excited! I love Elektra!

Hell, I even loved Garner as Elektra (in Daredevil, her standalone Elektra movie was terrible!) :lol Granted, that movie was done back when X-Men was just kicking off, and Spider-Man was the biggest thing Superhero, so it was a different time! I actually really, really enjoy that movie. I had fun with the theatrical release when I saw it, but I'm a HUGE fan of the director's cut. If you guys haven't seen the director's cut of the movie, definitely go pick it up!

It adds 30 minutes to the movie, and an entire subplot where Murdock actually tries a case, and it all ties into the main storyline, even though that's not how it originally looks. FOX decided to cut it short and lose that time in order to allow it to play more times in a day and keep the faster pacing. That seems to be the way FOX worked back then (and today at times also! :lol) as we all know from their messing up the order of which Firefly episodes to premiere with, and eventually canning that show.

Anyway, Daredevil: Director's Cut is like, $5 on Blu-ray from just about everywhere! Don't expect Netflix quality...as I mentioned, 2003 was a different time! :lol There's some bad CGI of him jumping through the city, and a few cringe-worthy lines, but overall, I think it's a really fun flick! And I'll stand by that the funeral scene when Elektra puts up the umbrella so that Matt can't see her, and then she gets into the car, and the reflection of the rain on her face acts as the tears she can't cry...very well shot. Love the Evanescence soundtrack too.

Okay, my gushing over that flick is done now. Destroy me if you must! :lol

PS: now we know where XM got the boot buckle idea from! :lol

I liked director's cut of the movie much more then the series. Bite me. :wave

Elodie Yung's fine but she's French Cambodian. Electra is Greek...
Say what you want about Jennifer Garner, but at least she looked like the character (caucasian and muscular). :lol

What do you mean Zod? This scene was awesome

:lol that's exactly how I feel during that scene.

Garner was only chosen as Elektra due to her popularity from Alias. The only thing she has in common with Elektra is that they're both female.
