Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

an excellent addition to your posts......that will be one awesome line up when its all done....

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thank you all so much. These Jason's are fueling the fires of my other repaints... helping to push me along this backlog of work. Which.. is thankfully moving forward. I am shipping out some stuff tomorrow and hopefully early next week as well. Things are moving along at a steady pace.

As for the Jason...I Finished the mask. I found rings for the mask straps, used aluminum foil for the metal attach points on the mask. Straps are leather, but a bit thick... They still work fine though with some trimming. I could not find a metal square for the back of the mask, but I found big enough rings to use for it. Has the FVJ look now, still works perfectly fine. I figured I wouldn't find that part. The paint came out great, I had the CL Memories book and it helped a LOT in that dept. Had to get all the telltale scrapes on the mask... I also put fabric behind the eyes to make it screen accurate, works great.

Well, without further ado... here it is.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Said in the other, thread and I'll say it here too! F'n awesome man... you are really cranking out some killer work. And it seems like you are having a lot of fun with it!!!

^^^^ that ^^^^ job, this is what you need to be doing bro!!!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks a million Joseph. This makes me happy, so I'm happy to be doing it. And to help my friends and fellow fans complete their collections, it's a nice bonus. I just need a team of workers to help me get more done. :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Appropriate on multiple levels, it's like a rebirth with Josh, all the struggles and he emerges stronger than ever.

So, what your saying is Josh is kinda like...

Jason Voorhees!!!

We should call his ass Josh Voorhees :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'm not familiar with Jason, but given his costumes and such, I think you could equate Josh to Michael Myers, no matter what you hit him with, he gets right back up and with more force than before you knock him down.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

True dat... I figured Jason might work since he always seemed to get more and more ridiculously powerful from film to film. But I guess thats true for most slasher icons.

Either way, bottom-line: Josh = Kickass!!!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, your Jason mask is off the hook!!! the details on it are unreal. from the cast itself, to the dings, scratches and cuts, to the attachment of the strap, and the paint job itself... PURE BRILLIANCE.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

It was very important to me to get the details of this mask right. I sat with the photos, and hammered out the logistics of it. I walked around Wal-Mart for hours trying to get all the stuff I needed, looking for anything I could use. It worked out great, I was able to score what I needed to get it done and this was the result.

The head is now sitting on my Jason shelf, awaiting his body... And I can't stop looking at it. It's really crazy how nice the mask came out. :duff

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

You definitely have a passion for the Jason masks. I would be great to have a separate set of all the Jason masks from all the films. Somehow displayed in a long shadow box frame, how cool would that be:rock

That way you could display your figures with masks and have a kick ass display piece with all the masks too:rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That would be pretty sweet! I've always loved the Jason masks and had a collection of replicas at one point. I was amazed to learn the details of the masks and how they changed in each film... It was something I remembered when it came time to do this project. It's all in the minute details, when you add those... new life comes to the sculpt.

I will be available to make any masks that can be made from this base mask, I'm glad I molded it... Sideshow did the hard work, I'm just following it through to it's logical conclusion. I can't wait to have the figures on my shelf with my custom masks instead of the plastic flimsy ones. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Maybe sometime I will commission you to make me a mask from each movie, that would be an awesome little display, lined up in a black shadow box frame. All the masks from prt 3 to JVF.
