I got my Ripley head sculpt today, thanks Darren

I painted up Darren's awesome head sculpt today and Extended Ripley's legs . I wish i could paint like Darren so be kind and shes meant to be perspiring cos shes going back in the Powerloader.

I cut the legs just above where the top of the boots sit and then gave them a good sanding.

Then i cut 2 silicone gun nozzles (their great because they taper) over an inch in length for both, so both ends fit tightly in the open parts of the cut legs. The best way is to cut them longer then trim bits off both ends til they both fit nicely. I extended her legs by about an inch overall which is perfect for her in the Powerloader and alongside the marines.

Then i superglued them in place once i was happy with the length and fit.

After that i wrapped some material padding around the excess and then padded the whole legs even further to give them more bulk.

Im sure you could use just about anything, i was going to milliputt them but the way i done it only took about 10 minutes

no worries Pete take your time, I fully sympathise with people who are busy lol

Full Spock pics will be coming, but it's not really up to me when. Some final details being worked on. But yes... you'll see (and love!) the outfit!

Finished this head up today in amongst doing some other things... thought I'd throw the pics up while I got on with everything else.

I forgot to take a before pic, but I'm pretty sure you all know what it looks like. Skin was too dark (WAY too dark) and the irises were too big making him look like he'd taken some kind of drug. Other that that it was just the usual lack of variations in the shading and details.

EDIT: Oh, and the eyes were slightly the wrong shape. Had to do some sneaky painting to change the shape of them subtly, but importantly.

Sculpt is good though.

Next up is the first Indy PF I've repainted

I'll let the pics speak for themselves but basically it was given a full paint over, including the hat, and I took these pics after it had been varnished, dullcoated, and the eyes, lips and teeth glossed to the various degrees that they should be.

Some of these pics were taken with (fading) natural light and some with help from an overhead bulb, and some with flash. (hence the changing shades) but I wanted you to be able to see all the details and subtleties so I just put all the pics up.

I've compared it with a PF that I've yet to start, to give the contrast.
