I can get standard poses with a 1/6 figure, minus the accuracy....but I can’t get great dynamic poses with a 1/6. So it’s nice to see a statue that goes for it...it’s just personal preference on pose position.

I don't get it. Why does 1/6 scale stop you from getting great dynamic poses?

1/6 figures, or most possible figures, can’t hold extremely dynamic positions without som form of support, like a crotch grabber of clipnthat wraps around a waist. Statues can hold dynamic poses...obviously. Not that your question was authentic. Everyone knows the advantages of statues in terms of making a figure look authentic in a dynamic pose.

Yes actually it was an genuine question. I thought you were implying that 1/6 could not hold a pose whereas 1/4 scale could. That''s were the confusion crept in.

There is another thing. Many times a statue's suit is sewn in such a way to resist in time in that dynamic pose sculpt, while the suit of a figure might have some issues if folds appear for too long. I've seen Spiderman figures with permanent creases on suit after prolonged action poses. It is also known pleather / faux leather might decay and peel in time, and that will happen more easily if in a forced action pose like you'd have when posing a figure.

Ok, my apologies. JNkO raises another good point. If you look at Darth Vader’s suit on statues it has the authentic folds and creases by the stitching and this has been hard for posesble figures to capture properly, as well as naturally flexed muscle.

I haven’t seen many 1/6th poses of Darth Vader that look authentic to me.

I like the statue. Great job by Sideshow and a definite improvement over their previous one. If I didn't have the Iron Studios Vader or had more space/money, I'd definitely buy this piece.

Having said that though, the Iron Studios still remains the definitive Vader statue.

IS Vader was $50 cheaper, had smaller total ES for collectability, had a better base, better light up features, better pose, more switch-outs.

The Sideshow Vader.... although great..... feels overpriced in a world where the IS Vader exists.

I'd actually forgotten about this one already, probably speaks volumes. I'd love a really good Vader PF, but this isn't even close (for me) Sideshow seem to struggle with him for some reason, the best one they made IMO was the mythos which didn't really have to worry about capturing his character accurately or even faithfully.

Vader looks taken back here. Almost like somethings spooked him. lol!

I think SS saw what praise IS Vader got and went for all sculpted PF and dynamic pose but just couldn’t capture Vader, even if it was shown for a split second on screen. Having the IS Vader, it would take an amazing pose and accuracy from SS to entice me. Probably be a loooooooonnngggggg time from now if ever.

Imagine if XM studio gets SW 1/4 license for North Ameria replace SS we could see so many interesting and creative stuffs from them...not these boring PFs..zzzzzz
