Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Nah...Limp Bizkit in Woodstock 99 was the lowest point in modern human civilization :lol ; _;

It was fun though.

Yeah, but you gave me the Bieb, who can win with that? :lol

No kidding though, I listened to my old 90's 00's bands, Limb bizkit, papa roach and such, and I cringed and gagged, I hated myself for ever liking that at one point.

I take comfort in the fact that I also like classic stuff.

I don't hate Limp Bizkit, but it's interesting how those bands are viewed negatively by today's youth and even adults. It's almost as if those bands are from a forgotten less civilized time for some reason, before political correctness was popular. Even Deadpool made a joke about LB and late 90's/early 00's music.

I don't find the rapmetal era to be any worse than other music trends in music like, Disco, New Wave, 80's hairbands or early 90's grunge. Those late 90's bands had some catchy songs, and they were very much a product of the time.

Although it might be the "cool" thing to dislike those nu-metal bands, I appreciate their contributions to rock music in a time when the music industry was dominated by boybands and pop music.

Hopefully, one day people will enjoy that early 00's music since trends come and go and people's taste changes over time and nostalgia can change people's opinion. Until that day comes, I'll secretly enjoy the Bizkit, Korn, and Kid Rock's Devil Without a Cause :lol

"Metal heads" hated Metallica because they got haircuts or because they went "mainstream in the early 90's. Every band has haters and I'm sure they hated rapmetal, yet a lot of them were all secretly listening to LB and going to the Family Values tour and listening to Creed's Human Clay album :lol. "Real" metal was pretty much dead and irrelevant at that point. Unless you count Slipknot...but the fact is LB was the biggest "hard rock " band in the world in the late 90's and early 00's, and that's no joke, even if people today want to deny it. :lol

Also, Goodcharlotte had no connections to nu metal. If anything, they were part of the mainstream "punk" music from the early 00's like Sum 41, Blink 182, and Green Day.

KoRn, that was KoRn you are thinking about, KoRn was so big, they MADE Limp Noodle big. KoRn not only gave Limp buzkit fame but they made an entire new genre of music famous (they didn't create it, but they certainly made it mainstream)

rap metal was as big as it was because of KoRn. KoRn also had metalhead fans and even goth fans (because of their creepy lyrics and their creepy guitars. ) they had rap fans. it felt like almost everyone liked KoRn in 1998 with freak on a leash.

no one ever made fun of KoRn. no one mocked them (not like LB)

KoRn is what you are thinking about as far as the biggest rock band in the late 90s.

Limp Basket was famous, of course, they sold out and they were in the billboard charts, but they were a joke even when they came out. Fred Durst singing was like a joke to everyone, even LB fans. they were big but they were also mocked.

From 98-2002 LB sold more albums than Korn and were more mainstream and synonymous with rap metal, not Korn. In fact, Korn didn't have that much "rap."

You're right about Korn helping LB and it was Korn's Freak on a Leash video that became popular on Total Request Live, and the number one video beating the backstreet boys.

I don't think LB became a joke until their third album, "Chocolate Starfish", and by then most of the criticism was towards Fred Durst, mainly because he was an attention hore...like most rappers. However, initially that wasn't the case. He wasn't a good singer or even a good rapper, but he had great energy on stage and could entertain the crowds.

Nowadays, Korn is also hated by a lot of "metalheads" and rock fans and they are part of the "nu metal" label, even though they hate it :lol You're also wrong about people not making fun of Korn back then. They did because of Jonathan Davis lyrics and all the childhood and daddy issues :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

^Yeah pretty much. I used to be a huge KoRn fan, I had all the albums, posters, super hard to find underground VHS concets (today they're probably out in torrents :lol) and I didn't get the hate back then, I was also a fan of similar bans, like Deftones and such, I wanted to get Munky's dreadlocks and everything, a total and ******** fangirl, I went to probably the only time they came to Mexico :lol

Back then I didn't know English all that well.

But now when I go to a trip to the past, holy **** were those guys ******* or what? They're nothing but beta males and pushover, complaining about how everybody bullied them and called them ******s and stuff, it's pathetic. Then they got big and got stuff like got the life, complaining about fame and ****, so deep omg :slap

Metallica and Rammstein still hold up perfectly though, even though they're entry level, Rammstein's lyrics are beautiful.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Yeah, at least LBdidn't take themselves seriously...I mean nookie was about Durst getting cheat on and everyone knowing about it and him being a chump :lol

well its like this

my friends in south america were KoRn fans, knew everything about KoRn. Limp basket was not known until they did the Mission Impossible 2 music video, and they were never played in rock stations over there.

KoRn was fully a world band by the time of freak on a leash. Limp buspass was more of an american thing. (as far as i could tell)
