Not quite as bad as you guys. I was charged $40 USD from SSC plus another $75 CAD/$70 USD from taxes and brokerage from FedEx for the Batman PF. But I did get it in 2 days though.

Don't let these Brits fool you. He paid about 91 pounds for his VAT/Shipping charges. You paid about $156 CAN Dollars for your taxes/brokerage/shipping charges. The British Pound is worth much more than either the CAN or US Dollar. To give you yet another example, your $156 CAN dollars is only about 84 British Pounds. The conversation rate is much worse for you guys North of the border. Yes, those of us in the US have it the best when it comes to collecting from SSC. However, with subsidized shipping and the strong value of the GBP, those Brits don't have it nearly as bad as it seems. Didn't you notice, that's why they always complain about how much they are paying in USD. And just so you Brits don't think I'm giving all of you a hard time and supporting my brothers North of the border...GO TEAM USA!

Game is OVER! Sadly Team USA was never really in it after the first 5 minutes of the game. If Quick wasn't so spectacular in goal, the score would have looked far worse than it was. Well, the last time Team CAN beat Team USA, the Hawks won the Stanley Cup. I can live with that.

I was quoting a Canadian who was quoting a Brit complaining about VAT and shipping fees. Canadians have a much bigger gripe about the overall cost of purchasing SSC pieces. Because of the strength of the GBP and subsidized shipping, Brits have a much easier time than Canadians purchasing SSC merch. Whenever you hear a Brit complain about the VAT or shipping charges, it is always in USD. That's because if they did it in GBP, the amount would be much smaller. I don't know how any of my posts have to do with a rating. I was just trying to provide a little perspective for a Canadian buyer who really does have to struggle with buying SSC merch.

Some silly import fees you've got going on. Can't make collecting any easier for you

On all my orders direct from SS, I only ever get hit with the normal canadian sales tax (5% here in Alberta). Right now, it's the exchange rate that's killer...Canadian dollar lost about 10 cents in the last few months. Banks charge an extra 2.5% for the currency conversion.

So, right now, I'm paying about 17.5% on top of the American dollar value. For a few years there our dollar was on par or slightly ahead at times...that was nice for a change!

Smart ***! Congrats to your Men and Women Hockey teams they should both take the Gold. Canada really does develop the best Hockey players in the world. Still bummed though,I thought this year was our Hockey teams best shot at Gold in a long time.
