Where the hell did that GG quote come from? :rotfl

:lol Awesome

So looks like after reading up I missed "no shipping notices" and "last batch for lyfe". Haha awesome

Since I can't be in the elite batch I'd like to be runner up batch elite aka 2nd batch

I also would like to see Irvy get his shipped out soon. Haha this thread would tear itself apart but I think it would be hilarious!

This PF just looks so clean, powerful, it pops! I think it just has more visual appeal than most other PF's I've seen. Is it the sculpt, colors? IDK. I hadn't followed this thread, but now I'm thinking I'll buy this. I wonder if it will make a difference if I flex pay or pay in full at this point as far as how soon I'd get him..

IMO the sculpt, paint app and suite colour make this piece. I'll be absolutely honest with you when I first set him up I was totally underwhelmed by him.

Why? Well next to Batman Superman is quite lean (you'd think Batman could hit him into next week) and the base in all honesty is really poor. Why did they choose that colour???? It should have a been white with minimal blue hues throught it and that would have really made this piece pop even further.

With Bats there is also that crazy utility belt and batarang, just a few little things that add complexity to the piece, I guess I felt I got a lot more for my $$$ with Batman.

Having said that I gave him a couple of days and yeah I really love him now (except the colour of that base:lecture) The simplicity of the piece kind of rings true of his personality. He doesn't have a dark gritty childhood and doesn't need any extra little pieces because,.....well because he's Superman!

As for the Ex I simply couldn't get past the look of it. It just felt like a novelty to me rather than a cool addition. I know I'm in the minority but I don't care because that Reg portrait is simply breathtaking.

re: the cape peg not sitting flush with the hole I think thats standard, someone posted a few pages back they had the same thing and spoke to SS briefly about it. Mine is visible if you look underneath too but the cape is sitting flush on Supes' shoulders.

:lecture He speaks the truth, that is how it sits with the cape slightly lifted on his right shoulder

Glad you guys dig the pics. Can't wait to you all get em and suck in the beauty of this piece, its simple but very striking. Ugh, stupid me, I totally forgot to take shots of the EX head and the red eyes, and the hands too, great detail in those. If you dig Alex Ross and his style, you are gonna LOVE this. I'm a huge Alex Ross fan so I really dig the look of this.

Ahh, right on, thanks bruce for the info, appreciate it. I was struggling to secure that peg and got some red cape paint on his neck but swabbed it off with some alcohol and all good now.

I think I am gonna reprint the base... I feel the same way, the base is making Superman look too plain.

Hey Andre, I'm feeling you there brother. Haven't recieved mine yet but I've already got plans to make a cast of the Sideshow base out of clear resin and recreate a crystal/frost effect so that it fits better with my Fortress of a Solitude custom Diorama ;)

I was part of the group that flex and paid on the 10th, but didn't make the initial cut. Well... #492 is home. It is awesome, perfect paint, perfect sculpt, just plain perfect. One thing that pictures didn't capture as well is the shade on the fabric and cape, it is much nicer in person that on pictures. Couldn't be happier. Hopefully everyone else will get theirs soon enough.

P.S. batch 1.5 4 lyfe

No, not at all..There's just no reason for you to keep rubbing it in our faces that you got yours first...There was nothing elite about it, you just got lucky to be in the first batch...

You are obviously not aware of how the elite first batch thing works... SSC picks those most deserving of their product. Grants them Elite status and then sends it to those first. The bottom of the statues even say... "ELITE"

Why are you so angry at the Elite? ;)

It's the colors... The Really makes him stand out. Having a great sculpt and good cloth material does not hurt either :)

He who gets it last will treasure it more.

Old Jelly proverb

See JC... This guy knows how to roll with it.

Time to repost the ELITE photo taken by one of the ELITE members to remind all of you non Elite of the greatness that is coming to you. Just think of it like christmas... The wait is half the fun.

Can't remember which Super cool ELITE member deserves credit for that photo... But he must be the bee's knees :)

Except with Christmas, you get your stuff on the day that it is promised...instead of not hearing about it for another month after...

Anyways, I now have bats on display at my new job to the left of my monitors and now the right side awaits...empty...
