That is the one issue I do have w/ SSC policy. They are negotiating from a position of strength and know EX cust will fold in "take it or leave it" scenario. You know, I thought the concept of EX was to get more loyal cust to order direct.

Thank you for your email. Please know that per our terms of service the entire piece and all accessories must be returned in order to process any sort of refund or exchange. This is especially true for the exclusive pieces, as this could jeopardize the integrity of the statue’s edition size.

If you do not return all pieces of the statue, we would not be able to process any portion of your refund. Additionally, your account would be placed on hold until the parts were returned.

I apologize for any disappointment this may cause you, but we must abide by the policies we have set forth for the return and exchange of statues and figures. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns and I will do my very best to assist you.

I do not like them passing off quality control issues to the consumer. It is one thing if you are buying a 10 to 20 dollar action figure. I don't expect perfection from Sideshow, but I am scared about the quality of the Superman I will receive. I haven't even gotten a shipping notice, and clearly I will not be able to get a replacement if it arrives broken. I really love Sideshow's products. I think they make the best 1/4 scale and up pieces. One of the best parts of the company is how well they treat the customers. However, there have been several recent events that are showing a disturbing trend in QC and customer service.

This is one of the big reasons why batch shipping really sucks. We have no chance at a replacement because they are already gone.

I love their products too. But this was my grail piece...and i hate that term but really no other way to put it. I am a bit turned off at the moment to SS. Im sure ill get over it, hell, ill just get regular one and be a big boy about this. But it doesnt sit well with me, but what choice do i have? Ive been given no good options. I just have to take my lumps and move on. But given the opportunity, moving forward i would rather do business elsewhere when given the choice.

Sounds like the suspect you might try to keep the EX head.

Sounds like from his previous posts that they believe someone else may want it as is, possibly with the discount they offered BLS

How are they passing any issues off to customers? They offer a 100% refund guarantee, no one is going to be out anything, if they don't like the product they get their money back. Their customer service goes above and beyond when they can, but unfortunately situations like this do occur, but the customer always gets the opportunity to get their money back.

CSI,
Well the customer loses in several ways.
1. If they really want the piece, they will have to pay more on the secondary market.
2. Most pieces require a NRD and some people use flex pay. I don't know about you, but my money makes money. Thus, there is a loss of potential gains.
3. Because most of the exclusives are done on preorder, the consumer plans to have the funds to buy a product. Thus, the consumer will pass on other collectibles to save for the one they want. Hence, if it comes to them broken they also missed out on another in demand item that they would have gotten if they had known their item would be broken.
4. There is a loss of time. Time is money. I do not want to spend my time talking with Sideshow on the phone or through email about defective products.
5. For me the biggest problem is that we buy these items because we want them. We look forward to getting them. Sometimes for over a year. This is not the instant gratification hobby. Thus, after an extensive and anticipated wait, we end up with nothing. If this doesn't bother you, why are you buying statues?

Furthermore i was told if i return the item without the ex parts, i would get no money back and my account would be frozen. Can you believe this? All ive ever done was support sideshow with my wallet. I feel a little less excited about them right now. I have literally no good option that nets me an undamaged EX superman. Sucks.

Yeah we pay everything plus the nice Xmas bonuses.:hi5:

I guess I just don't have the same entitlement mentality as you do. I am happy buying a product that I know if it's not 100% I can get my money back. I have had numerous interactions with Sideshows customer service and they have always gone beyond to help me out, way more than any other company I know. I have had only one instance where they could not replace an item for me. It was a Psylocke PF that started cracking 8 months after I got it. Sideshow said they were not able to replace it, but would still refund me if I wanted to return it. 8 months later, way beyond the 30 day window, and they still bent over backwards for me.

It is not an entitlement mentality. Please do not make this a personal discussion. I am not here to be a troll or be trolled.
I know Sideshow reads these forums on occasion. It is important to know that their customers are unhappy. I am not a ridiculous complainer. A few tiny paint imperfections do not bother me. I did not care that GH did not have a dark enough skirt (I think it looks great). However, I didn't like that my GH showed up broken. But it can be replaced, hopefully. But BLS ordered a statue that he considered to be a grail. Now he cannot have one unless he is willing to take substandard quality. BLS is looking to give his business to another company. I recently made the decision to switch over my Hot Toys collection to 1/4 scale statues. I feel Sideshow makes the best. I love their products, or I wouldn't buy them. However, if I get inferior products from them on multiple occasions, I will stop buying from them. I am sure this is a concern for Sideshow. We discuss these issues on the forum because it is frustrating for the consumer, and because it brings attention to the issues so that they can be addressed in the future. I do not think BLS or myself are trying to slander Sideshow. He has a legitimate issue. I do feel that he lost out. Is it the biggest concern on a global level, no. But we are on a collector forum.

k.

Oh nice. Didn't realize. That makes sense too because of what they wrote about the ES. So will they send him a packing label or something? How does it work, never shipped back anything to anyone

Wow man. Good speech. For real and not to instigate anything Lol. That makes sense still. I'd be pissed off too and I can get where CSI is coming from too but yeah til you get screwed or feel like you have been, you can't always understand the other side.

Point one, you made it about you when you made your list of all the things you were out because of what you claim is Sideshow's poor quality control

Point two, 99.9% of the posts about this statue were about how awesome it is, so there really aren't that many people "unhappy" with Sideshow's QC or customer service on this one.

Point three, there are no replacements because this statue was incredibly awesome and almost no one canceled or returned theirs, it sold out and everyone wants to keep it.

Unfortunately in life things happen and we can't all be 100% happy all the time. It sucks, but it's life.

Yeah, they send you a label via email and you package it up and drop it by UPS. It's pretty simple, although I'm sure someone will whine about the gas they were out having to drive it somewhere :slap

That's awesome. That's why I love SS. XM makes you ship it back to them at your cost which I think sorta sucks ****. PCS also sends you either a new box or a shipping label too

Ok im on an ipad so i cant get too precise here with quotes....

You mentioned no replacements cuz no cancellations. Thats not how it works. They don't take parts from the edition sizes. They overbuy pieces for parts as needed.
I have returned several items and never complain about gas. I know things happen, thats fine. My issue is thst SS has no options for me to have the item i ordered in proper condition. Hell, id pay them $45 for a nice body at this point.

A little Superman for all to enjoy. Love him!

CSI,
I think you need some literacy help. First, I discussed the issues the consumer would have by getting a broken product that has been placed in preorder. Thus, what I was able to do is analyze the issues that a consumer would have to deal with by putting myself in someone else's shoes. I have not had a bad experience on the level of BLS. However, I saw enough evidence to be able to form an opinion about his situation. It is fine that you disagree.

I have a joke for you, 97.4% of all statistics are made up. I am glad you are good at making up numbers. You might enjoy a career in politics. But seriously, there are a lot of people upset. Most are in the group that hasn't gotten there statue. Now their fears have been realized, there are no replacements. I haven't gotten mine. I am sure I love it, but I am a bit worried.

I was not making a comment just about this statue, but about recent issues that have occurred on several other statues. I have been reading QC complaints people have had on the Apoc Premium Format, and it is more than just .01 % of the people. Several people have said they feel lucky that their statue showed up without minimal issues. I was one of several people whose statue showed up soaking wet. For me it was Sauron, but I know of others. Not the box, but the statue. I didn't find any rust, so I didn't need to get a replacement. The argument that many of the XM posters are making is that they want top level quality. They want a statue that is very close to the prototype. Don't believe me, read theM. From what I have seen, Superman is overall the best statue of the year. It is actually better than the prototype. I have no complaints about the statues that have been received without issue. This was not the statue BLS received, and now it is concern for all of us that are waiting.

Yep, they ran out of replacements. If this hadn't been as popular and they had some in stock they would have exchanged it for one of those. It also might be one of those situations where they didn't get a whole lot of replacements because of the shipping issues they seem to be having. You are unfortunately out of luck, it absolutely sucks for you, however you are not out any money, and making it sound like Sideshow has robbed you somehow, or that they are losing droves of customers because of this is a bit over the top. Bottom line is Sideshow generally has outstanding customer service, but sadly this time they couldn't give you what you wanted.
