I actually suspected that this piece was just that good. It got me into statue collecting 2 years ago even though I'm more of a Spidey fan and I was able to resist the Com when I first saw it. Well 40 something statues after, I still think it's a favorite and it's anchoring my entire display.

Just scored a new Regular Superman on Evilbay last night for $447 shipped! I'm so stoked!

This was the statue that got me into collecting as well. I hate this statue so freaking much for all the money I have spent (looks at Superman, Loooooveeee youuuuu).

I love the sculpted cape. If they included both, I would still go with sculpted. But I don't want to switch out portraits. For those that do, yeah that custom cape is the way to go.

The custom capes are nice looking, but for me I like the sculpted one more just because the way they sculpted his traps works best with their own sculpted cape design. With the cloth cape they look a little large and exposed.

Thanks for the heads up. What exactly should I be careful about? Is it hard to fit in?

There is only one peg to secure the cape to his body. The cape is pretty tight around his neck. So, as you maneuver the cape to put it on, you can scratch the sides of his neck and leave red marks. It's a real pain in the ass to remove and put on. I have the EX and I love the EX portrait but I won't swap portraits because of how difficult it is to work with his cape. I've only had the REG portrait on him since I received him over a year ago because I don't want to mess with his cape again. Since you have the REG PF, you'll just have to navigate his cape only once. Be patient and careful and you should be fine. He's going to look AWESOME when you put him together.

If nervous about putting on the cape wrap a very thin piece of sheeting or microfiber cloth around the portions of the Superman body likely to be touched by the cape, including the shoulders/neck. Then remove just before putting the peg where it goes. That should protect from scratches...

Worst case, use a lightly damp piece of mr clean magic eraser to gently buff out any "scratches" that might appear. More than likely what looks like a red scratch is really just part of the red paint from the cape on the flesh toned neck or shoulders. This happened to me and I was distraught for a few days and debated repainting, but the magic eraser trick took care of the issue and it now is perfect again.

Good luck!

Haha. Yeah. If only. I'm sticking with the sculpted cape as well. That was one of the things I found amazing about these piece actually.

I'm probably going to have to wait a long while to get this, and that scares the crap out of me. Prices are already ridiculous.

Yeah, once a piece is completely sold out, prices only tend to rise over time. Especially on popular characters that are in demand. At least SSC made a lot of these. That'll help keep the prices reasonable for awhile. Can you imagine if the Trinity had a run of about only 3000 (1000 EXs & 2000 REGs) each? The aftermarket prices would have been insane already. The high edition sizes will definitely help out collectors who want to add any of the Trinity down the line but, I wouldn't wait too long.
