Are these pics with the darker cape and boots? People asking way too much for the Ex.

No that's the original look that matches in color perfectly with the trunks. And if you want an EXC, you will pay a very pretty penny. But imo, you don't need it cause too many little pieces that you can accidentally break/lose. Most people display theirs with the regular head anyway, cause I heard it's a pain to get that cape off. You need a lot of care swapping off heads.

Been seeing a lot of used EX on ebay end at around 450 to 500. just gotta be always checking ebay... or the commerce site here.

I really like the regular head. neck and hair looks great.

I don't need the EX but would prefer to have the original paint scheme.

If there is a sealed in box non-ex for sale is it safe to assume it has original paint scheme? Have any darker paint scheme versions shipped!?

No, the new paint scheme hasn't shipped. Sideshow announced that the shipment they received from the factory didn't meet their quality control standards. They're redoing the whole batch.

An EX guarantees you the correct color scheme on his boots and cape. Those were all produced and shipped already. I haven't heard or seen any complaints about his boots or cape being too dark on the EXs. Now the REGs I'm not sure about. I know this last shipment had the darker boots and capes but had to be scrapped because of damage. All future REGs will have the darker red cape and boots because SSC changed the pics to the REG Supes PF on their website to update the change in color. Have there been a few REGs that have already shipped with the new color scheme? I don't know/I'm not sure. The only thing I do know is that if you purchase a REG, it can be a roll of the dice to which one you'll get if the darker color scheme REG is already in collectors hands.

While it is very true that it is a pain in the ass to take off his cape, the EX switch out pieces aren't an issue. The flames coming out of his eyes are a rubbery material so they aren't fragile. The same with the small red inserts. On top of that, if you do lose any of them, SSC had a spare for all of them in the package so you'll always have a back up. There is no drawback in owning the EX. It does give you different display options if you don't mind dealing with his cape.

I hope by the grace of being a loyal collector for SS, we do get another Supes down the road with some of these same features as the exc, cause I'll be sure to get an exc this time.

I honestly think you'll be very happy with the Supes PF when you get him. It's an amazing Superman statue and I'd be surprised if you even think about buying another one because IMO, this is the definitive Superman statue and it'll be hard to beat. So long as you're OK with the darker boot and cape, you'll be more than thrilled with this phenomenal PF. It really makes a hell of a impression when you see it.

It is not difficult once you do it once or twice and get the technique down. Either head is great, but the EX is a very nice extra option. Even that has options as well, heat eyes or just regular red eyes. There is also a nice custom stand available for the extra head when not installed that looks good too. You won't be disappointed either way.

Yeah, I just remember what a hard time I had putting the cape on when I first got him. It was a pain in the ass and I was worried about getting red streaks on his neck like so many peeps did here when they went to put on his cape. The biggest reason I'm worried about taking his cape on or off is because of the peg system SSC used. This is such a heavy cape and they only put one peg on it. I'm worried it might snap or bend if I move it. That's why I don't mess with it. I was thinking of picking up one of those custom cloth capes for him but I just LOVE the way his sculpted cape looks and flows. Oh well, he looks AWESOME on my shelf so I'm all good.

I couldn't resist...the eye is still drawn right to Superman. Awesome piece.
