Great pics Shaun! I've got your latest League picture as my desktop. I'm not a big fan of the "alien" head, but I appreciate DCD including it in the package. I'm not sure if mine will arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. What is it with these coming out during holiday weeks? The next one to be released will be Catwoman.....the week of 4th of July. The upcoming Classic Batman and Batgirl will be released the week of Thanksgiving. And let's not forget the most recent 13" solicit, Powergirl, which will be released the week of New Years.

Yep, these are figures with such great potential. But because of a few bad/odd decisions end up being kinda funky.

Why do they have to be:
13" scale?
Cut bicep and thigh joints?
what looks to be little to no paint on MM heads besides the eyes?

Just a few tweaks and they could be pretty awesome... can you swap out the clothes for a different body? Or are they just too big?
I completely agree. If they addressed all those problems, I'd buy just about every release.

About the hollow bodies, the other DCD figures were wearing costumes so it may not be as easily noticed. I prefer them to keep the basic figures weight down because it makes them easier to pose and keep their balance and so it doesn't make the leg joints loosen with time, but it sounds like it already has that problem.

I personally can wait to get this guy next week. I agree with all of you regarding the biceps and the wrists with these figures... The weight I think is good because of the size. I think they do a great job costuming these figure and Martian Manhunter looks great when you think about what they've achieved with just a small costume. He's actually been one of my most anticipated releases this year...

I'm worried about the hips being loose as every one has said this so far...

Tonight's review will be one of those that gets lots of discussion. I'm covering the 13" Deluxe Martian Manhunter, and I'm going to give him a hard time. Why? Because this is a figure that I paid double what it's really worth. It continues to have issues that it shouldn't, especially at this price point. Now, if you can choke down the price, or you manage to swing this guy for under $50, you may feel a lot better. But most of the world is getting stiffed on this line, and these 'deluxe' figures don't deliver for the price tag.

You can find all the reviews at the usual:

I also wanted to mention that Toys and Cool Stuff (one of the MROTW sponsors) has a special offer right now. Check out the Peg Patrol to see how you can get a free $10 gift certificate, good for anything at the store! Thanks for reading!

So I got my 13" Martian Manhunter today. Overall, I'm REALLY pleased with him! Sure the cut joints are sucky but I don't really do much as far as posing goes, so they work for me. The headsculpts are most excellent! Perfect color of green and the costume is great.

My only complaint is about the packaging. They decided to tape the cape to the bottom of the clear tray (I guess to keep it in place) and the tape left non-sticky adhesive stains on the inside of the cape. I'm afraid to use anything to remove them (if possible) out of fear of messing up the material.

At any rate, J'onn J'onzz is a very welcome addition to the lineup! Catwoman is only a month away.....
