Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Thanks guys! Batman will take a bit longer as I have to sand him down before painting but I should have some photos tomorrow :)

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Batmobile is ready to be picked up

In the meantime, A rehashed idea

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I made some changes to the last set :)

The Riddler - I only painted the smile with slightly darker color and the eyes a bit whiter to make the figure pop.

Batgirl - I had to fix one of the bat ears as it was shorted than the other and full face repaint, now she is showing the skin under her mask like she should.

Batman - I'm still working on him but I re scluped the head slightly (photos coming soon-ish)

Zelu do you strip the old face paint before painting it? What do you use to strip it?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

what size brushes are you guys using to do all this intricate paintwork? I need to buy some brushes to paint my batman's eyes and mouth but not sure what brush to get. Any suggestions?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Just wondering if anyone had problems with their Batmobile? Defective, scratches, broken parts, lights, etc?

I did.
As soon as I got mine out of the package, I noticed a strange scratche on its left side. It had a lighter shade of grey to it, making it look like it was hit by another car, you know?

I rushed back to the comic shop (Midtown Comics), gave it back and got a new one, which is 100% perfect.

I use Sable hair brushes, they are really soft

Each brush has a different type I usually choose 0, 000, etc or sometimes it's called 5 or 3

Any hobby store or a Michaels will carry these. However I prefer art and Hobby stores, I've used brushes from Michaels and they alright but I found my hobby and art store had better quality, of course, they are a little more expensive but so worth it.

Oh, tip use Acrylic paint because if you mess up you can clean it up with stripper or little soap and warm water, enamel takes longer to clean up

I like the Gunze or Gundam Paint or Artist Modeler brand. For these you can use a cheap Americana, Folklore bottled acrylics that are like 99 cents at Michaels

Once again, an incredible work, Zelu!

You're beyond talented!
Keep up the good work!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Sorry to hear, but glad to hear that they gave you a new one. I still have mine in the box, don't know where to put it since my HT 1989 Batmobile is already displayed. I was plan on keeping it sealed like the rest of the figures. Since I ordered it online, I don't have the luxury to return it if there is a problem.

Yeah, I feel so relieved that I opened it while I'm still in the city I came. I was able to come back there and get a new one.
I knew I had to open it and check it, as we can't see it because of its box.
The manager was super friendly and gave me a new one right away.

I highly recommend you open yours just to check it.
But why can't you return it if there's a factory issue?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Yeah, I'll be opening it.

I'm sure I can return it but probably gotta pay the shipping back and this thing is huge. I hope I get a flawless one when I open it.
